Made a thread about it before, i think ggg v brook is the blueprint to follow. Ward has zero power, so kovalev can just walk through his punches
Have you placed any money on Kovalev to win?

The analogy i'm drawing is mostly due to defensive punching power. There is nothing Cleverly could do to keep Kovalev from unloading on him. This is exactly Ward's dilemma. a pillow fisted mover.

          Kovalev can move with you.
You should realise that boxing involves a lot more variables than power hence why earnie shavers and george foreman arent undefeated. Skill plays a much bigger role and Ward has more skill than Kovalev.

you should understand that Kovalev is not all about power. i'm talking this individual case.

I know Kovalev is a ver good fighter you are the one comparing Cleverly to ward.

What does Kovalev do better than Ward? He has better power, he's fast but not faster. both have decent chins but both have been dropped before, Ward has greater experience at the top level having been in with better fighters and having fought for longer including his amateur experience. In my opinion Ward is a stronger fighter and is also more defensively adept Whilst Kovalev hits harder and is more offensively sound. Generally although this rule is not universal the better boxer generally wins the fight. Not the bigger puncher.

I am picking Kovalev to win but Ward is much better than Cleverly so it's no sure thing.

It's so ****ing sad when you have fans saying a fighter must use 'clinching' as part of a strategy to win a fight. They as well of took up gymnastics or pole dancing where they could clinch the chit out of a pole. Absoultely pathetic, those fans that support such weak tactics should be exterminated as well as boxer completely banned for doing so multiple times during a fight.

At LHW? I'm not sure about that. What titles has Ward held at LHW?

                    Exactly.

Ward barely skates by super middle guys. Beat some cans at LHW.

Ward is someone who made his size an issue at super-middle. He grinded on guys with his size and controlled them with his clinching. Froch/Kessler etc.

His clinch game is gone at LHW because he isn't the biggest in the ring anymore.

exactly. these "fans" of the sport are clearcut racists with emotional personal agendas.

there's no logic behind supporting clinching and wrestling in a boxing match.

but once again, 90% of them are raised by single moms.
