This is what I've been saying. Jacobs options are limited. He sat out almost a year and came back with a fight against Mora ffs! I'm optimistic the fight will happen because Jacobs has nowhere else to go. He's not getting Canelo or BJS before GGG gets to them. GGG is the only fight out there for him
GGG -Jacobs must happen

That's still not an excuse. This isn't a voluntary, this is a mandatory. GGG's goal is to have all the belts. He knows that there may come a time he has to fight off network due to a purse bid. I'm pretty sure he has that written into his contract with HBO.Comment

I would have thought that too but then I have to wonder why it would take so long. If you compare this to the Wade negotiations, Wade had literally nowhere to go and quickly signed on. Perhaps Jacobs is just trying everything to get as much as he possibly can. We'll know by October 22 whether he has a plan. This is what I've been saying. Jacobs options are limited. Both guys need it badly. If it doesn't, GGG needs to move to 168 and Danny needs to try to goad Canelo into a fight. Their careers are both getting down to the wire for real money and legacy. This isn't even a mega fight. This is the type of fight Don King would've mad in a second and put it on regular HBO.
If the WBA doesn't raise the purse split Jacobs still must take this fight. He's known the purse split is 75/25 since he's been paying his sanctioning fees. If the fight is on HBO & at MSG he must take the fight.
If the WBA raises the purse split GGG must take the fight. Yea it'll suck for him but this won't be the first time the WBA has done it so they're not setting precedent here. If the fight is on Showtime & at Barclays he must take the fight.
These are the top two middleweights and both guys need this win on their resume. Can we all agree that no matter what happens both guys need to agree to this fight?Comment

If Showtime is willing to pay $3m for the fight, while HBO is only willing to pay $2m for the fight, why should DiBella (who currently does no business with HBO, and has had a history of doing very little business with HBO since Top Rank took over) give HBO the $1m discount on the fight?
Golovkin has his obligation to the WBA 160lb belt; if he values his HBO deal over the WBA obligation, he may as well just give up the belt.Comment

It's been tried. That's not gonna do it
‘Wait a second. I could fight two Peter Quillins and make the same thing.

If Jacobs turns down the fight he needs to retire. This is a shot for 3 world titles. If it's 75-25 he needs to take it. Sometimes you just gotta take the short end of the stick. If he doesn't want three of the belts what's the point of fighting?
If GGG turns down the fight and vacates he may as well move up because i doubt Canelo is going to give him a shot after that. And his whole marketing will be exposed.Last edited by Motorcity Cobra; 10-11-2016, 10:01 PM.Comment

Absolutely, man. It's now or never. I really hope he takes it.Comment

Well if it's in his contract and showtime/PBC come in with a bigger bid then he better fight.... But I really can't see HBO letting one of their top " stars" walking over to a rival network to fight.Comment
