Just in case the OP had in mind my recent conversation with ReddFox as one of the examples, I've never changed my mind, for the record I would (maybe even heavily) favor Golovkin, but I always thought Canelo would be his biggest challenge out of todays middleweights. Nothing changed since the Brook fight, nor after Floyd picking Canelo.

Most people are fickle and change their opinions on a whim without bothering to use their brains. 'OMG GOLOVKIN GOT HIT BY BROOK.' 'OMG CANELO DESTROYED SMITH'.
It's even funnier how Canelo went from "OMG KO ARTIST" after Kirkland, to "featherfisted bum couldn't KO little Cotto", and now back to "OMG CANELO'S POWER IS OUT OF THIS WORLD" after Khan and Smith.

Besides, his amateur days were more than a decade ago. He's gotten older and slower.
Put him against a person his size that's a good pure boxer and let's see how foolish he'd look. Infact, Brook was having success out boxing him early on.
And yes, he is a plodder with a hard punch.

Honestly, this has always been a close fight. That's why it's a good fight. If Canelo really didn't have a **** ass of a chance, what the hell would be the point in making the fight in the first place?
I think it's just that Max Kellerman would probably suck GGG's **** if given the chance, and HBO's crew talk about him so much, that BS talk influences the masses.
You can say this and that about one guy or the other, the fact remains, it's a pretty close fight and it wouldn't be shocking if Canelo did win.
