Mayweather is right about this comment. Even though he's a woman-beating hypocritical pos. He's right in this one case.
Fighters are making big money to fight poor opposition.Comment

See, this is what happens when someone surrounds themselves with yes men and women. Everyone around him agrees with whatever wacko b.s. lines he comes up with. He then learns the sky's the limit, comes up with even more wacko b.s. Rinse and repeat.Comment

He certainly didn't earn that much money. Especially considering all the ducking and juicing he did.Comment

Floyd is right actually.
"Kick ass and the paydays will come."
Guys like Broner and Garcia think they're rock stars worth 8 figures. How many times did they fight this year and against who? Say what you want about Floyd, but he took a lot of risks, kept winning and knew how to market himself. He was setting records. These younger fighters don't even have a fanbase yet.Comment

Floyd's Right
Fighters these days are wanting 7 to 8 figure paydays yet they don't sell out venues and don't get high viewership numbers.
That's the biggest problem with AL Haymon fighters while talented they are getting paid way above market value.
Say what you want to say but there's a reason why guys like Floyd, Oscar, Pac, Mike Tyson etc.....got paid more than everyone else in the history of boxing because they were global stars who transcended the sport.
These days there are very few fighters that can fill do those things and have that kind of following. Floyd's right. Fighters should take a little less now and keep winning so that way in the future as they increase their market ability they make more.Comment

Floyd took on all comers from 1998-2004 to prove himself and wasn't getting big paydays back then. De La Hoya was old in 2007 when he fought him, but Floyd still catered to all of De La Hoya's demands as the B side.
If you only started following Floyd's career since the Marquez fight then that explains why you would say something like that.
This thread isn't about Floyd cherrypicking in his later years. It's about younger fighters who think they're worth millions when they've only beat bums and over the hill fighters.
You don't like Floyd and that's fine, because I really don't either. But if you think he didn't pay his dues to be a cash cow in his younger years then I don't know what else to say. Haymon's fighters like Broner and Garcia want to make "Mayweather money" without building a resume and making a name for themselves.Comment

Boxing winning isn't guaranteed when a fighter is thinking about taking a risky fight and not confident about winning they want extra money.Last edited by MrClutch85; 10-09-2016, 08:02 AM.Comment
