and btw, if you really did notice that I "have brought up brook 500 times in this one thread", then you must have also noticed that we already popped that "Brook is a cashcow" bubble
NOBODY has ever referred to Brook as a lucrative opponent, NOBODY
see above
my point is this..... those class clowns are desperate for exposure, and yet they turned down 10mil to fight the little red kid..... wtf??????????
FACT: they have never landed a meaningful EVER, they look to be avoiding them
and now, you really think that they are negotiating in good faith with Jacobs, despite first offering him Quillin-money, and then forcing an early purse-bid?
come on, you guys don't believe that..... so no point trying to spin it to me

Ha ha. I wouldn't even bother trying to 'spin' it to to ya AFT. Just giving my take. Way I see it this fight probably has a purse in the region (and yes I'm pulling it outta my ass but it's an educated guess) $3.5 - $4 mil. How much of that would you give to Jacobs? How much do you think he's worth to GGG? 50/50? 40/60? Looking at the bottom line what would beating Jacobs actually do to further GGGs earning potential? And how much is Golovkin worth to Jacobs? What would beating Golovkin do for Jacobs career? What are Jacobs other options? TBH I would be thinking about a move up to SMW if the Golovkin pay isn't to his liking cos there's nothing else at 160 for him.
I'm not arguing right and wrong here, just laying out their respective bargaining position as I see them. Golovkin ain't some kinda charity, they're taking calculated risks like everyone else. Like Jacobs.
#NewEra, champions are dropping their belts, what does Jacobs gain? let's see he might gain prolonging his career more or even maybe saving his career, because brutal beatings change your career and shorten it, this is a huge risk for Jacobs, he's got a family to feed, he's a cancer survivor, he knows how tough life is, and could simply fight 20 Mora's for the next years and providing his family for a lot of time with some good money.
That's what he gains.
PD i want to see the fight, but to be honest I gotta be behind Danny on this one, if the risk is gonna be huge, you gotta pay me VERY WELL.
You drastically over-estimate the damage that Gennady Golovkin is actually capable of inflicting in a fight where his opponent is actually punching him back.
Kassim Ouma, Gabriel Rosado, Kell Brook and others have all put hands on Golovkin, and have all made it out of said fight, living and more than ready to fight on.
Daniel Jacobs may hit the betting books as the underdog, but he's a live underdog, who can go from fighting for Sergio Mora money to fighting for 3-5 times Sergio Mora money if he pulls through.
Those of you who are comparing Kell Brook to Danny Jacobs need your heads examined.
Kell Brook brought something to the table that Jacobs doesn't...it's called an audience.
Brook made $4 million US to fight GGG. Why? because he has a built in audience in the UK. Fight sold out in one day and tickets were crazy expensive. The GGG-Brook fight was also a PPV in the UK.
Jacobs is asking for $3 million to fight GGG. Just to put that in perspective, the majority of Floyd Mayweathers opponents that weren't named Pac, Cotto or Mosley made around the same, 3-4 million dollars and those were fights that were PPV and did 700K - a million PPV's.
Jacobs couldn't sell out in Reading, PA or Brooklyn (his home town).
GGG sold out MSG against a French Canadian.
That's all you need to know.
Jacobs is asking for PPV type money for a fight that would land on regular HBO, or Showtime
GTF Outta here!
Daniel Jacobs brings Brooklyn, and a fight story that would legitimately sellout Barclays Center (without the need to resort to the ticket gimmicks that apparently were used to "sellout" MSG for Golovkin-Lemieux).
Barclays Center has reason to put a massive site fee behind Golovkin-Jacobs, in a way that MSG has no interest in doing.
I guess you forgot it was Hearns signing the checks in that fight and it wasn't a K2 event.
With Jacobs' camp doing their due dilligence in clearing up the terms for this coming bid, it looks like K2 may not end up signing the checks for this one either.

That'd be fine, but doubtful as you're always spectacularly wrong. Remember when you had Haymon stripping Ggg via Wade purse bid lol. The Pbc guys are proven inept but still not completely out of touch like you
Can any of our fearless boxing financial wizards estimate what this is fight is actually worth?
I hope there is enough money for both of them to make it feasible.
Jacobs-Quillin ended up having a payout of $4m to the fighters, for a fight on Showtime Championship Boxing, with no one putting up the money having any issues.
Golovkin-Jacobs, at least likely in the eyes of Showtime, is a bigger fight than Jacobs-Quillin was.
How much bigger is tbd, but I wouldn't see a payout of $5m for the Golovkin-Jacobs fight card ($4m to the main event, $1m for the rest of the card) as being unreasonable.
You add that things could get unreasonable (Jacobs wins the fight and he's literally the king of the Barclays Center), and things get interesting.
Kell Brook is even way more popular in the USA than Danny Jacobs.
When Kell Brook, who only fought in the USA once, is much more known in the USA than Danny Jacobs then you know whats up.
Nobody really knows Jacobs, he is literally unknown even in America except to hardcore boxing fans. Showed how he had 267k viewers on Showtime for his megafight against Quillin.
