Best analogy is Steven A Smith differentiating other NBA players from Kobe and LeBron. You can be a franchise player and a 1st ballot HOF'er. Kobe and LeBron are both but are also "box office"-meaning the tickets are more expensive and they get more games on TV in the choice times so the NBA can meet advertiser expectations.

GGG isn't "box office" yet you and alot of his fans act like he is.

    Maybe that is the problem.

Daggum and other GGG fans tend to get mad at fighters that try and get the best deal they can for a GGG fight just like GGG is doing with Canelo.

GGG does draw huge TV ratings. When he forayed into PPV it wasn't very successful. I took from that casual fans will tune in when it doesn't cost them anything but were not so keen on paying to watch him.

I just hope the fight gets made. I am not interested in another Jacobs/Mora or GGG/Monroe level fight.
EXACTLY! But now we know this fight isn't going to happen. I've moved on. I expect to hear GGG announce another known, respected, named fighter to get the media and his fans excited...And then we find out it's against another Dominic "House Arrest" Wade type quality fighter. I mean quantity. Plenty of Bums will take his $500K usual offer.

        So the difference between

        $2 million Jacobs
        -1.5
        =$500K Heiland, Johnson, Curbsidze fighters.

Pay the $1.5 and give the FANS a REAL fight!!!

But NO GGG fans don't care who GGG fights as long as it's a body. Doesn't even have to be warm anymore...
uh danny jacobs said that. not sure why you are bringing up 2 million over and over since thats not enough for danny jacobs.

What opponents have he giving as much or almost as much as him before? Don't just make up stuff to fit your agenda buddy this fight is not the Monroe, house arrest guys of the world, it's arguably the #1 and #2 guys getting it on in MW division take your bias glasses off Jacobs would not be trying get split change if it goes to bid if it wasn't for a low ball offer k2 offering because split would be substantially in they favor if did that

I suspect it's more to pre-emptively counter the inevitable accusations that Golovkin was lowballing Jacobs. No-one really cares what these guys are getting paid, but they do like to argue with each other.

Far as I'm concerned it's down to Jacobs to accept the mandated split if it goes to purse, but I suspect the $ figure won't be to his liking. Fair play trying to get the WBA to change the rules, but I can't see why they would, there's nothing particularly exceptional about this fight to warrant it.

That's great but this is what Jacobs thinks

‘Wait a second. I could fight two Peter Quillins and make the same thing.’

if ggg isn't box office how is he going to pay jacobs 3 to 5 million? get it now? he can't and thats why the fight isn't getting made. jacobs is acting like ggg is box office so blame him. wants more than floyd opponents when ggg isn't on floyd's level. yet you aren't blaming jacobs at all...you are saying he just wants the best offer. no he wants an impossible offer. you know this yourself you just refuse to be fair. you just said ggg isn't box office so how is he going to give jacobs 3 to 5 million dollars! explain!

The fight itself is a WCB level fight. I think it gets a little more hype because its the 1st time we will see GGG in with a MW most fans consider top tier.

IMO Jacobs isn't going to win, but I do hope he can bring more out of GGG than the usual dishwasher level guy. I may not be a GGG fan but I have often posted how i think he is very talented and possesses a ton of boxing skill.

I just want to see him in a fight where he is forced to utilize all of his skills.

Yet another Haymon guy asking for more money than he's actually worth. I wonder why? Coincidence?

PERFECT example!!! You can also CHARGE more $$$$ to see real fight instead of and exhibition game.

What cost more??? Exhibition games?? Or real games??? And what tickets cost more??? Your team playing against the Patriots or Cleveland Browns???
