And you can't say Floyd wouldn't "chance" it in his 5th weight class without acknowledging GGG not "chancing" it his whole career.
It's fine dude, nobodys saying Ggg is Tbe, don't get threatened. Floyd has big time credentials at Sww, last held the belt for 3.5 yrs, unified, lineal. Ggg was willing to drop down to SWW, fair game but of course Floyd is more of a paper champ at SWW. Ggg could well be dead at the weight, but Floyd wouldn't take that chance like Pac vs Oscar.

      He isn't done yet, Einstein.

It's okay with you that Bernard only moved up at 40 after back to back losses, but GG HAS to move up now, even though there's good fights for him at MW and the best SMW's are tied up??

      Seriously?

You want to crown this fraud but he can't even do what Paulie and Zab did.
Whoever uses race in a debate, is an absolute imbecile in my opinion.

I've never said his resume is impressive. But I can appreciate his circumstances and I can see that there's good fights for him and I can see that his team are trying to get them for him.

Forget Paulie and Zab. Once again, everyone's circumstances are different. By your logic, Marvin Hagler was inferior to Zab.

Just let his career unfold and then assess him at a later date.

If he beats Canelo, Jacobs and BJS but doesn't move up, I'll criticise him.

If he can't get those fights and he doesn't move up, I'll criticise him.

At the moment, he's not doing anything wrong, and there are no top SMW's that are available to fight.

So Bernard turned it around at 40, but GG can't at 34?

We must be dafter than you to keep replying.

You sound like a small child calling him a coward and saying he's scared etc.

          Marvin Hagler never moved up.

Why do you even bother posting?

Put your time to better use.

The point is, in 1993, Bernard didn't agree to fight the version of Roy Jones who was considered the best fighter in the world.

You can't give Bernard a pass for not fighting Roy in 2002, just because he fought him in 1993.

            My point still stands.

Bernard did not take risks and seek out the best fights when he was at his peak at MW.
If he was unproven what was Hopkins? Jones was a heavy favorite like it or not. Hopkins was thought to be a mediocre fighter but he gave Jones his toughest fight to that point and for many years after. Neither was at their peak so it's unfair to act as if he wasn't facing the best Jones when Jones wasn't facing the best Hopkins either. And I think traveling to Ecuador to fight the very tough Segundo Mercado in Mercado's backyard isn't a risk many fighters would take.

If he does move up and has a continued unblemished record the boxing historians will undoubtedly be kind and call him one of the greatest fighters of all time. He's got some work to do before that.
LOOKS like the fights will get made next year....Should take on BJS first to unify all the belts, then clear up the lineage with Canelo

Again, there's good fights for him at MW.

It looks like he'll be fighting Jacobs in December, and a fight with BJS looks like a real possibility. Then we may be able to see the Canelo fight at some point next year.

At the moment, the best SMW's are tied up.

There's nothing wrong with him trying to accomplish his MW goals.

Let's see what happens in within the next 12 months before we criticise him.

It's illogical for him to challenge the winner of Ward and Kov at this stage. And Bernard would never have done that in GG's current position.
I support him staying at 160 as long as he is going after the top guys

the hype train is about as fast as its gonna move...nows it time to prove his worth as a fighter.

People always want to be prisoners of the moment, like it was brought up in another thread, other MW have also dominated a division and beat all challengers and are regarded highly, it will be no different for Golovkin.

As someone who claims to be so passionate about boxing therealpuglilist, you should focus more effort on just learning and appreciating the sport, not looking for agenda topics are attempting to discredit fighters.

We both are big Floyd fans, so I find it sad and odd you can't embrace guys like GGG the same way. There's just nothing to not like about the guy. Even if you criticize his career moves, as a fighter, there's just nothing not to like.
                    GGG is a good fighter

but its fun as hell to troll his die hard fans.....many of them are posters who trashed more proven fighters like roy jones, Mayweather, Garcia and others. they are bitter these guys beat a fighter the adore...whether it be Matthysse, Pac, etc

i do it all in fun...they are hypocrites....spent years trashing accomplished fighters but make excuses for GGG just because they like him, for whatever reason

at least be consistent...be criticial of the risks being taken by all fighters across the board.
