golovkin's current run ahs been good enough to get him on any decent p4p list. that's all i claim, and that's a reality disputed by fanboys only. not once will any of you find me calling gennady golovkin a great fighter. i think he was a geat amateur. ithink he has great talent. being a great pro fighter and having great talent are different things. being a great amateur and a great pro are different things.

this straw man crap has got to stop if you want me to take you all seriously.
You pretty much summed up how I feel about GGG. He passes the eye test. But he won't bend over for nobody and he won't go out of his way to be the greatest. And that works for him.

Canelo ***ed up by saying MexiCANS dont F around.

Just like GGG looks ****** for saying anyone from 154-168. He also didn't look too bright blasting Khanelo fight and then fighting Brook. Even you have to agree that was some dumb sht to say.

Floyd went up to 154 for Oscar, and came back to dominate 147. Went back up to 154 for Cotto, and came back down to dominate 147. Went back up to 152 to fight Canelo, and came back to dominate 147. Oscar took Sturm's MW title, lost it to B-Hop, came back to 154 to beat Mayorga! Canelo has beaten Trout, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, and Cotto at 154/155! He's only 25! GGG needs to do more to go from "good" to "great."

It's funny,I was thinking today about the stuff fighters and their teams come out with.I remember Hopkins saying he wanted to fight both Mayweather and David Haye,Calzaghe saying he could beat Wlad klitschko ,even recently Eubank Jnr saying he would spot James Regale the weight and beat him too.Exaggerated outlandish pronouncements are the name of the game in boxing,no reason to think they are anything more than hype. Why do people cling to then like their a promise of marriage?

Ward is way bigger than Golovkin. But "spank", no. "Outpoint in a boring clutch fest", probably.

I'd love to see him in bigger better fights. The Jacobs fight seems like it should be a classic but I'd be disappointed if it ended up the highlight of his career, but I don't see a reason to lose faith just yet. When and if he steps up Degale would be a good fight maybe others will emerge too.I don't think the Canelo fight will ever happen to be honest.Ward might be out of reach.Even of he's still at middle when some of the better guys from 154 move up we could have some good tests.Looking back at the time Oscar and Trinidad were around it now seems like a golden age when big fights were largely made at the right times. And people born in the times of Leonard Hearns didn't know how lucky they were.

I should add that as for Canelo ,I think that yes he is still young but his best opponents on his resume are Lara and Cotto.Cotto was smaller and had been crushed by Pac and Margarito ,and I though Lara beat him although debatable.I think he needs a big fight too and the likes of Smith is a joke for a star.Dropping the title damaged him ,the owness is on a champion to defend. Now it seems he's going back to middleweight.Which makes dropping the title to just go fight Smith look silly.

And he lost. I'm pretty sure GGG could have done that too.

If RJJ was fighting at MW today, I'm sure GGG wouldn't hesitate fight him. With random pre-fight PED testing, he might even have beaten him.

Golovkin doesn't have courage to fight prime Roy Jones.
