Comments Thread For: Mayweather Sr: Golovkin Fights Small Men, Ward Spanks His Ass!

Floyd Mayweather Sr. has little respect for WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs). The father and trainer of retired five division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) wants to see Golovkin step up and face bigger men - specifically current light heavyweight contender Andre Ward.

Ward is two weight classes bigger yet he complains that Golovkin fights smaller men.

People are really angry about Golovkin. I wonder how much crying will go on when he knocks Jacobs out.

This guy probably requested to be burried with a pipe and some rocks, forever smoking. Wilder beats Ward...

Brooks was 2 classes below Lil G yet he still fought him. You can't have it both ways once Lil G accepted to fight Brooks the excuse of Ward being to big for him went out the window.

"Golovkin has received a lot of criticism over his last fight, when he overpowered IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook for a fifth round TKO last month in London. Brook moved up by thirteen pounds to take the contest.

Most of the criticism is because Golovkin ripped apart Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez for doing the same thing back in May, when he fought welterweight contender Amir Khan at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Ward had attempted to make a fight with Golovkin last year, but GGG's team had a little interest in the contest - prompting Ward to move up to the light heavyweight division, where he's scheduled to challenge unified champion Sergey Kovalev on November 19th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas."

That says it all! GGG is not fighting only smaller men, but his mantra of "anyone from 154 - 168" is totally BS right now. Turns out 154 was only for Floyd, and 168 was only for Froch and Chavez Jr. Fighting Brook made him the biggest hypocrite in the sport, and destroyed his second favorite claim, "I am not business man!"

We all know Brook was a stand in for Eubank, and if Golovkin turned him down it would've been "he's ducking Brook now"..Nunn ,Hopkins ,Mayweather ,Delahoya all had a defence or two against smaller or older and smaller fighters. Some had trouble with much smaller men too.Taking on an Amir Khan ,who was one punch flattened at lighter weights is much worse in my opinion. The bit that separates Canelo from the rest is the surrendering of the middleweight belt.We all know, you all know, what that's really about.Whether you can admit it or not.
