Hey, great points on Hopkins! How about the other 3? Hopkins knew that he wasn't getting the big names, so you know what he did? At 36, he actually dropped down to 156 and beat the Golden Boy, Oscar de La Hoya. He didn't say "no catch-weight, no flat-fee." He did what he had to do to get the fight! That's the attitude I wish GGG had! Maybe we would've seen the fight already!

The statement you made regarding Kovalev applies to Ward. Which is why the "can't make 168" argument should be put to rest. Besides, it only exists to deflect from the fact that Loeffler turned down the RocNation offer to fight Ward in 2016. There is ZERO need to continue with that as the fight is not on anyone's radarComment

Did he say something, we all didnt know? Thats why the lil g fans dont want him to fight Ward, because we all know Ward would stop lil g. They would've been jumped on that fight if they EEEEVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR thought they could win it. When he was looking at 168 he said he'd fight Froch, Chavez Jr, but he left out the one person that was already on top of the division because he knows what his team knows, that he cant beat Ward. Plain and Simple

The other three by their own admission outgrew the divisions they were in.Oscar later made the mistake of trying Welterweight again and looked like a dead man in the Pac fight.Btw like you said he dragged Hopkins down 4lbs ,the same thing GGG gets stick for trying to get Ward to do.Now remember when Hopkins fought Oscar he had just come off what everyone thought was a loss to Sturm,he was past it clearly.Also Hopkins himself had weighed in voluntarily at 157 and said he felt he could make 154 no sweat.But as for say Floyd ,he took Canelo down a couple of pounds.,Andre took Dawson down a whole division,despite Dawson asking for a reasonable 170.But all that aside.People always push for an advantage and that's understandable.But Canelos 154 adventure with Smith shows he's not interested in tough fights there either.He doesn't want Andrade ,the Charlos,he picked Smith.It's not going to matter what division its in ,he can make money without a real title or opponent very well,at least for the time being.Comment

Clearly Ward was a tougher challenge.That's why he wanted a concession from him and not the easier Froch and Chavez.This is the same reason Floyd happily fought an older Oscar at 154 but a more energetic Canelo had to make 152.It's the reason that Chad Dawson was forced all the way down to 168 instead of the reasonable 170 he asked for.All fighters try to get these advantages.Simple stuff.Did he say something, we all didnt know? Yeah but that wasn't at any kind of world level.He admits he had no idea what he was doing ,ate a lot of carbs and just winged it.A four round lesson in fighting at a weight to the best advantage of yourself.Years later at age 42 when he did move up,it's because he couldnt beat the unified champion at Middleweight so he took Tarver ,who made the most money sense for his win over Roy Jones.Comment

He moved up in his first fight? That doesn't make sense. Where did he move up from if it was his first fight?
BHop STARTED his career at LHW and fought multiple times above 160 before he moved down to MW for his first title fight.
When he was the same age as GGG is now BHop had won one world title - the IBF MW.Comment
