Arum is right about Canelo and Momma De La Hoya, but let's not pretend that Grandma Arum doesn't do the same thing with some of his fighters.Comment

Arum had to go slow with Jr. the guy had no amateur experience whatsoever. But he brought him along the right way.
He had him face Zbik, who was a decent fighter, for the WBC title, then he put him against Rubio and then Andy Lee. Then when he thought he was ready he put him in with Sergio.
Canelo took some tough fights early on, but he's not following that path anymore. He's going backwards with his opponent selection. He was significant favorite against every fighter he faced after Lara.
He fought two punching bags (Kirkland and Angulo), a chinless wonder (Khan) who was moving up in weight, and then he got a money fight against Cotto, a fighter literally no one feared in MW and everyone wanted to fight. Canelo was lucky enough to get him to sign the contract. Then he fights Liam Smith who was a paper champion and a no hoper. Who's he going to fight next? Willie Monroe in May? This is not a great career trajectory. I think that this has a lot to do with Oscar. He knows they got dodged a bullet in the Lara fight. I thought he won the fight, many thought Lara should have gotten the decision. But Oscar saw enough in that fight that probably created some doubt, that's why he's put him in these easy fights.
Bob builds is his guys slow, but once they reach a peak he keeps them there.
Personally I thought Lara LOST for all that running and casual fans COMPLETELY ignored all those vicious body shots. I was there and you could hear those shot landing. I bet Lara pissed blood afterwards. I've never seen Lara run like that or even throw so few punches. When your a technical, skilled fighter and land like 28% of your punches against a slow plodding fighter there is a reason for that. Also you guys didn't see Lara in the corner during rounds like we live did...Those body shots hurt him. FYI NO one looks good against Cuban Fighters. GGG isn't going out of his way to accept Lara or even call his bluff.Comment

You forgot the BEST part... When it was almost a 50/50 fight. Floyd only asked for RANDOM blood/urine testing like MILLIONS of athlete's do all the time. Roach said Pac has NO Problem doing that. So did Bob Arum. Until Pac said NO. Then both backpedaled faster that Lance Armstrong on their original statements. Floyd even said ok to make the fight instead of 30days before fight I'll meet in middle 15 days. Pac again refused.Comment

Cotto couldn't **** with canelo yet he came in heavier and ****** with sergio and geale 2 full middleweights? No he came in lighter then he's been in years on the scales and on fight night specifically because rather the come after canelo like he did the bigger geale he decided he was going to get on his bike and try and win a decision going backwards rather then risk trading and getting knocked out. That was a strategic mistake and not canelos fault.
And wade wasn't on any body's top rankings not ESPN, not RING or anyone else credible. Got the nerve to be a GGG fan and say who did Smith beat when thats the knock on all GGG opponents...they beat nobody. And NOBODY called Angulo a shell when the fight before he dropped lara and was winning the fight before his injury. Canelo dominates and rearranges his face and all a sudden he's a shell? Just like nobody called Cotto old heading into the fight but he gets beat and now you use that excuse to discredit the canelo win. Smith is a better win then unranked bum wade and dragging a WW up 2 full weight classes in a fight that even the WBA deemed too much a mismatch to sanction.

April 20, 2015:
The loss by Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California to Andrzej Fonfara didn't necessarily bring about unbridled joy from Bob Arum - who had promoted much of his career before they split - who was in attendance for Terence Crawford's impressive stoppage of Thomas Dulorme in Arlington, Texas.
"Well, Crawford's win made me very happy and I wasn't happy necessarily on Chavez's loss because, y'know... what had took us eight or nine years to build, f***ing (Al) Haymon destroyed in one f***ing night,"said Arum to BoxingScene.com on Monday morning.
"So why would I be happy? He exposed what we all knew about Chavez: that he had built his reputation on his ability to come down in weight and then hydrate up so that he was fighting smaller guys.
"Look at every one of his fights, when did he ever fight a guy his own size?"

Please use Paragraphs
Honestly This is just a bunch of rambling excuses glad you didn't defend the Khan or Kirkland fight though
Let's start with Cotto, he choose to get on his "bike " because He was tiny compared to Canelo he couldn't **** with the younger bigger stronger fighter and expect to win or go the distance. You proved my point
Smith. I don't care what rankings had him he isn't a top 10, he was gifted a title against Thompson who's essentialky a nobody. Like I said before Smith may have been the least deserving champ from 140-HW. Seriously can you name another least deserving champ. Really top 8 you don't believe that lets take a look. Was D Wade top 10 ? Because he was in there but at least he had a W over Soliman. Smith wishes he had a Solimin on his CV
Would you bet that Smith beats
Canelo ( already lost )
Lara
Charlos
j-Roc
Trout
Hatley
Vanes
Lubin
Hurd
Ishe
And I'm sure if I looked at Bixrec I can list some more fighters that Smith would be the underdog and orobably wouldn't beat. Smith has beaten nobody
I can't knock the Lara (he lost) & Trout fight. Angulo was a shell of his former self he lost to Dela Fisa right after for gods sake. And believe Canelo will fight anyone
But Give it up Canelos been protected like a fragile egg since Oscar took over this is the truth because that's all he has
Lara
Charlo Bros
J- ROC
Trout
Andrade (Who u forgot)
154 is MURDEROUS ROW compared to 168 with
GGG
Jacobs
Maybe Eubank
And then
Dog sht
Dog sht
More dog sht type fighters.
You sure do bi@tch a lot.Comment
