I'll say what I keep saying about this skills comparison, which is that until I see Golovkin actually display top level skills against a top flight opponent such as Hopkins, it's hard to know just how skilled he is. Despite his age there is no denying Hopkins's skill or his ability to use it. Kovalev didn't just overwhelm him, he feinted and countered and plain outboxed him.

I'd like to see Golovkin do that against that level of opponent. Though I'm not blaming him as that level of opponent doesn't seem to want anything to do with him.

This is entirely different in that GGG - Canelo has a good chance of happening. Canelo was MW champ so GGG called him out; Canelo has talked about him, invited him up to the ring etc... Ward on the other hand is a LHW and a fight between the two has zero chance of happening in the near future. What's the purpose of talking about GGG? Last year Ward said: "I'm not interested in talking about the guy, I wish him nothing but the best"; now that he has a fight coming up he can't keep his name out of his mouth.

When GGG talked about Mayweather he also said he would go down to 154. Is Ward coming down from 175? Once it was apparent Mayweather wasn't interested they stopped talking about him.

The most talked about Ward articles revolve around GGG. Sad!

Well said, also GGG was Canelo's mandatory and i believe that Canelo talks as much about GGG as GGG about Canelo. GGG hasn't talked about Ward in a long time.

I like Andre Ward but i don't agree with him,
GGG is a better fighter then Kovalev

what does GGG do better than Kovalev? Kovalev definitely has faced better opposition than him and has shown more variety of skills imo

Ward continues to talk about GGG to sell his own fight. Why doesn't this guy say a comment like Kovalev is a better fighter then Smith, Barrera or Brand the actual guys he fought in the last year? I know why because people would ask him who the hell are those guys? Ward is pathetic walking around name dropping another fighter only to promote his own show...and then complaining to anyone who will listen that he should be a bigger star and receive more accolades from fans and media. Looking forward to seein this has been lying face down and having a nap in the centre of the ring Nov. 19!

Don't forget Kov. Has NEVER been even close to 100-1 favorite like GGG was against House Arrest Wade...U would have to bet $10,000 to win $100. That is the biggest boxing odds I've EVER seen. Bigger than Tyson/Douglas. Bigger than even Danny Garcia/Rod Salka
