And once again, September 2017. That's one year away from now. People acting like there is some deadline when Golden Boy/Canelo are talking about a potential fight literally a year away and on top of that Canelo injured his hand. No one is going anywhere.

Hopefully Golovkin v Jacobs happens next, then after that they can work out a deal. Canelo almost certainly isn't going to fight again until May of 2017 against someone at 160, then hopefully they can fight each other. Nothing is going to get worked out till next year anyway.

What does any of this have to do with the offer being real?

This fight does about 2 mil PPV at $60 a pop....

Giving GGG a career high $10 mil is lucrative considering he's probably fighting for maybe a $1 mil per fight but honestly this fight will do at a minimum 1.5 PPV to 2 mil PPV maybe a little more with enough promo time. With the gate, international rights plus merchandise yeah I can see why GGG won't take flat $10 mil. Fight is guaranteed to make over a $100 mil is my point and given that I know GGG wants his cut, however given his age DLH knows GGG needs a big payday soon and this may be his only chance. GGG needs the bread DLH needs to rebuild his stable and company so he needs this fight as well. It will happen fans both actually need each other it's just DLH has the higher ground.

Cotto a mismatch at 155? That's laughable. Right now there is no evidence that the ppv and live gate gap between Alvarez and Trip is shrinking. Even with the recent fight in London, the numbers can't be attributed solely to Trip because he was fighting a popular UK fighter. Also, Alvarez is 26, he can stall the fight for 2 years if he wants fighting the same middleweights Trip has beaten as he acclimates to 160. Hardcore Golovkin fans won't like it, but he has the fan base to build the fight for a longer period. Lastly, Alvarez has proven he will take challenges (Mayweather, Lara, Trout, Cotto). A challenge isn't just about a name, it's about a fighting style as well. You wouldn't understand that as a hardcore Golovkin fan.

Man Canelo's hardcore fans won't be around too long if they keep seeing the same names fighting him that were fighting GGG.
It's a numbers game where Canelo's ppv buys have been declining and fighting a Rosado or Monroe won't help at all... Lem is the only fight I would see but it wouldn't help Canelo.

That's the thing I wish more people were talking about. Kellerman gave him the hard question, & Canelo pined like an inexperienced teen. He even evoked "Viva la Mexico!"...i was truly dumbfounded by that response to Kellerman's question. Seriously, how come more people weren't talking about this? And i remember just looking at a smiling DLH right behind Canelo & thinking, "oh, this response is going to be scripted."

Cacanela's "viva Mexico" response was that of a spoiled brat's....as soon as Kellerman mentioned GGG, his expression changed to that of irritation...I saw DLH's forced smile as merely keeping up appearances...

All right, i don't have problem with the decision, i have problem with putting the fights like some Leonard over Hearns victories when he clearly beat to past his prime fighters.

You didn't explain why it's was a bs offer....and to answer your question, Alvarez would still be the A side because Golovkin hasn't done over 150k as the clear A side. Golovkin should accept less that 50% because Alvarez did 400k with Khan who brought zero ppv fans to the table. If K2 projects that Trip will be bigger as a ppv draw by next year, by all means they should wait, but it's a gamble because he has multiple mandatories coming up that may dim his star with a bad showing.

I said that if GGG vs Jacobs does as well, or better, than Canello vs Smith on HBO PPV, then GGG won't be the B side to Canelo when they fight. Golovkin already has a bigger fan base than Canelo outside of Mexico and the US, and it isn't even close.

There's no more reason to think GGG will have a bad showing with any of his fights before Sept 2017 than Canelo. The same thing applies to both of them.

Even if Loeffler is thinking of accepting Oscar's offer, he isn't going to make a decision on it till after the numbers for Canelo/Smith come through. He'd be very ****** not to wait at least that long first.
