It literally would..GGG is going to get anally ****d in negotiations with Canelo...with Kovalev-Ward winner he gets a bigger piece of the pie and it would be a much bigger legacy fight

He would get that with Ward-Kovalev winner because he would get a bigger split of the ppv upside

That may be true...but ggg vs canelo would be a much bigger promotion and generate way more revenue than the ward vs kovalev winner. He'd still come out better off as the b-side vs canelo. He'd be ****** to walk away from a chance at a canelo fight at this point...lhw division aint going nowhere.

Kovalev and Ward are not going to be sharing an 8 figure purse between the two them when they fight.

It would be a great fight for hardcore fans...but none of them are big draws. Canelo vs ggg is bigger and a much better sell. He's invested this much time in canelo...might as well see it through.

Bernard Hopkins is 6'1" with a 75 inch reach.

Golovkin is 5"10 with a 70 inch reach.

Golovkin's style works well because he's comparable to middleweights in stature/size, and that he has very good power and durability to make up for his lack of speed.

Canelo and Cotto are both short fighters in the 154 division, especially Cotto in regards to his reach.

Floyd is much quicker than Golovkin, has a long reach, and was taller than both guys.

You can't expect someone like Golovkin, who's not as quick as some of the 175 lbers (while Floyd was probably still one of the fastest punchers/movers at 154) and his style to be more effective. Just think of how bad an Adonis Stevenson vs Golovkin fight would be. I love GGG and all, but he would get hammered down hard and brutally at 175 due to how much stronger, taller, and the reach advantage the guys up there posses. Seriously, the height and especially the reach difference is ridiculous up in that difference. Adonis Stevenson has some very long ass arms.
