No he's fighting 1 lb less to shut up idiots saying he's not a super welterweight because he can't make 154. Kinda kills the theory people been making to call him a middleweight which he is clearly not. This is his true weight class and when 160 is the weight class he is comfortable with will fight GGG. If GGG wanted the fight now instead of waiting he shouldn't of said he refuses to negotiate weight and would only fight at 160. Taking any catch weight between canelo and GGGs fighting weights off the table.

Conversely if Canelo wasn't in fact just a Mexican ****ing around he would have stayed at mw rather than drop to lmw

Then how come none of the middleweights today can make 155? You want to know why because we have weight classes for a reason and they are middleweights who fight at the 160 and is very tough for them to get much lower. Canelo makes 155 easy and still makes 154 because he's a Jr middlweight. GGG refused to drop weight or even negotiate weight so he can wait till canelo is comfortable fighting at 160 or he can change his mind and agree to a catchweight at or closer to the weight canelo is comfortable fighting at. Just like GGG tells guys at 168 by the way.

Does Canelo realize how this makes him look? Apparently not. This has reached comical levels.

You believe in unification fights at catchweights? Also, since Alvarez invited Golovkin into the ring and said he would fight at 160, why the need for a catchweight?

I don't give a **** azzz about paper belts. Canelo won the belt simply because cotto won it at catchweight. Neither cotto or canelo have ever fought at 160. He had no intentions of moving to 160 he just wanted a ro fight cotto. And canelo is going to fight him at 160 when he's ready to move up to 160. Just like GGG tells fighters at 168. And why did GGG need a catchweight demand to fight ward at 164 when he said he would go to 154 or 168 for big fights?

Canelo should just stay quiet about GGG. He'll fight him when he's ready. You know when Golovkin files for social security.

If GGG has wasted his entire career away fighting bums and is 35 years old without making a single fight fans have asked for who's fault is that? If him wasting more years for a super welterweight to move up to 160 causes him to get too old then that's an indictment on his career and the people promoting him. Because we going on 5 years since he said he would move to 154 or 168 to make better fights but clearly he refuses to do that staying at 160 fighting bums on house arrest and begging smaller fighters to move up. Why not do what you are demanding others do and move up yourself or agree to come down to a catchweight to get better fights NOW.

So you're saying here is that Canelo was outright lying when he told GGG in the ring that he would fight right now at 160? That's my biggest problem with Canelo is that he hasn't been truthful and forthcoming from the beginning. He had ample time to say he wasn't a MW, yet paraded around with the belt calling himself champ.

True. Short of retiring from boxing I don't think he'll have any other choice but to move up.
