So one win trumps a career close to a decade of accomplishments in the sport none stop jumping up in weight without tuneups fighting the lineal and #1 guys in the divisions ? and then none stop fighting top ten opponents back to back?...and I didn't even go in every other good wins in RG resume...just to show that even without them you can argue that hes ahead of everyone....now I dont think P4P is settle by who got the best recent win you have to take into account the whole career

-- using your example Tyson Fury is better than Roman Gonzalez and Andre Ward with his ' Win ' over Wlad Klitsckhco!!!

      • Arroyo - was in the top ten when RG beat him Arroyo should of been IBF champion but was robbed by Ruenrog in Thailand..despite dropping him in the six.

      • Brian Viloria - Current #5. in the world @ 112 Former unified champion multi weight champion.

      • Yutaka Niida - Former #1. straw-weight in the world - two time miniweight champion ; two losses the first he avenged reclaiming his title the second one was to RG.

      • Katsunari Takayama -- Since 2005 till the present hes been in the top five!!! current WBO 105 champion still top five has held every major title in that division: IBF,WBA,WBC,WBO can any welterweight say they held every title @ 147?

I just gave you five names OK now Im going to touch on Wards Resume ( the notable names atleast ) Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler.

Note: Roman Gonzalez opponents are still on top winning world titles yet two of Wards opponents have retired years ago... Carl Froch was 34 years old when Andre beat him but that's considered a great win?! but when Roman beats Viloria hes no good despite being top five; Carl Froch 'won' his first title in 2008 and retires 2014!!!! so six years from becoming world champion and KO George Groves in Wembly and that's it ?? ( one division champion and a schooling by the Americans with a robbery in Anthony Dirrell along the way ) -- pathetic. Arthur Abraham is arguably Wards best win being a multi-weight champion @ 160-168 and was still champion in 2016! Great Look on S.O.G props no complain here...Then you got Kessler ( controversial victory due to fouls ) but it looks good on paper tho lol! ; Mikkel has long track record but never moved up only one division champion but yeah there you go....that Wards Resume I mean is it fair to knock Roman when he beat guys in their prime? had no controversy? been active adding more weight than most of these guys in the P4P list? Ward became lineal cleaning out 168 but RG beat the MAN...I mean......come on..
Weak ass resume full of old dudes

You trolling me: Niida was 29 RG was 21 when they fought ,Takayama was 26 Roman was 22 when they fought , Estrada was 22 RG 25 , Yagaehi just became lineal in his prime! at the age of 31! . Take into account the stiff euro-bots Ward fought hes too familiar with that high guard and limited head movement now go look at RG fights ; the level of skill is glaring when you compare Takayama to Carl Froch or Estrada to Arthur Abraham...not even close to matching skill.....RG had the younger and more skilled opponents ; Im just dropping facts and mathematics all over this thread shutting down the haters....all they been doing is coming back with one-liners and trolling.

And lastly other than Kovalev RG has traveled the world defending his title in multiple continents...Yet Ward has been in Oakland.....no hating just facts whats fair is fair.

If Ward wins by clearly outboxing or (very unlikely) even KOing Kovalev, then he deserves to be P4P #1.

If he wins by headbutt, then he does not deserve the #1 spot.

          Quite simple really.

What happens to Kovalev if he knocks Ward out in the first rd? Does he become p4p #1?

Whoever wins is immediately p4p #1 barring legitimate corruption or a failed drug test.

RG needs to stop fighting old, small dudes that are ready to retire. He's huge for his weight. 126lbs vs Arroyo? No, that's wrong, dude needs to move up

Once again you troll like four weights is not moving up? hes successfully added more weight across multiple divisions than all these boxers in the P4P list...with the exception of Ward provided that Ward beats Kovalev...Also you ignore how welterweights rehydrate to 160 but nobody is calling for Shawn Porter or Peterson to fight at middleweight and the list of example go on and on across divisions.

-- oh I just remembered in another thread you used Bernard Hopkins as an example to undermined Romans climb in weight and I provided the data demonstrating the parallel how indistinguishable their weight increase were when comparing the two careers...and you stayed silent and moved on...if you like I can run the numbers for you again?

I know what post you're talking about and you completely missed te context of it. I clearly stated in that discussion that people are not going to care about 3lb weight increments regardless if it was 1%, 50%, or 100% weight increase and that Hopkins 15lb weight increase to fight the Ring champ two weight classes up from his career weight will always look better in the history books than Gonzalez going up his little 3lbs

Context, context, context. No one's arguing math or science here
