I can't really see the argument for Gonzalez vs Kov/Ward winner being #1. To me, it's obvious. I agree with Ward. If he (or Kov) wins, he's #1. Level of opposition matters here. Gonzalez moving up 3 pounds or so and beating a titleholder doesn't make him #1. Don't get me wrong, the boy is badddd, but he doesn't have the resume and names of the cats who are on Ward's and Kov's lists. It doesn't matter though. It's not like the get some award for being #1 P4P...

        It's gonna be so pathetic.

If Kovalev wins in a brutal fashion, people will claim Ward is shot.

Yeah, it's almost as if pound for pound is subjective or something?

P4P blah blah when at the end of the day boxers care more about their pay. Shh has become almost like a catchphrase to deflect from the truth of the climate of the sport these days.

Every 3 lbs there is a new weight class.
                Bantamweight (118 lbs) -- Super Bantamweight (122) = 3.389830508474576% increase.

                Super Bantamweight (122) -- Featherweight (126 lbs) = 3.1746031746031744 %

                Featherweight (126 lbs) -- Super Featherweight/Jr. Lightweight (130 lbs) = 3.1746031746031744 %

                Jr. Lightweight (130 lbs) -- Lightweight (135 lbs) 3.8461538461538463 %

                Lightweight (135 lbs) -- Super Lightweight/Jr. Welterweight (140 lbs) 3.7037037037037033 % increase in weight.

The average weight limit below 140 is 3.88888888889 -- Im sorry the data does refute your pathetic argument ; you guys need to back to school and get your GED.

How many P4P Top 10 guys has Gonzalez beat??? At the TIME of course.
So many feelings going to be hurt come 2017 when Ward is not #1. I do expect your stances to change if Ward loses though and (or) the talks of p4P will become very irreverent to you. You'll probably just jump on the the Terence Crawford bandwagon for #1 if he fight and beats Manny Pacquiao.

GTFO with that bull. Just say you don't follow the lower weight classes. Gonzales matches and prehaps even surpasses both Ward and Kovalev resumes. Estrada is the best fight either of the three have fought. Froch is Wards best win and he's no better than Brian Viloria, dare I say not even as good as the Hawaiian Punch.

Estrada, Arroyo, Yaegshi, Viloria, and prehaps Cuadras places Gomzales #1 until he loses or retires. Ward will just have to get inline.

I think these guys confuse popularity with accomplishment.
