Gervanta Davis is at the Jacobs-Mora II fight tonight. Maybe an announcement on something today.

What about Schaefer's promotional company backed by Chinese money?

I think part of it is due to the Football season starting up again. The PBC seems very careful now not to compete with other sports

I think some of these dudes are just jealous of these fighters or are bitter former fighters who were paid peanuts in the past
what they did was great for individual fighters, but it was awful for the sport.
you now have kids that aren't much more than prospects talking to reporters about how this is a business and that they don't care about the fans like it's a cool thing to do and good for the sport. you have guys like danny jacobs drawing 380K on showtime and turning down a fight with golovkin because it's not big enough.
what al haymon has done is not good for the sport. it is not. he basically acts as a promotor and with promotional power to influence networks, but moves fighters like a manager. in other words, he influences networks to put on mismatches for big money, and he has such a large share of the top flight american fighters that he can get away with it.
"why fight a thurman or porter when you can fight a salka?"
in time a story is going to break that details how haymon operated as a pomotor and manager for years and violated the ali act.

boxing is a business. Im all for fighters getting compensated more, considering many don't know what to do after boxing, don't manage money well or were never taught, no pension, 401k etc....yet people whine about"oh he only fights for money!!"...damn right...fans aren't getting hit in the head and liver
you don't fight to entertain fans
you don't fight to make people happy
you don't fight to please critics
you fight to win, and take care of your family, all that other stuff is fans whining.
was it good for the sport for fighters to fight 3 times in 1-2 months, work a full time job and still barely get by? I see this everyday at my gym.
Matter of fact one of our fighters has a fight in fort myers, his name is derrick Wilson. Fought Javier fortuna when they were both prospects. He literally was being fed to guys with more experience, undefeated fighters, etc. He was under Golden Boy promotions for a while but once they saw he was game and would fight anyone and always gave it his all win, or lose, he was fight guys at 130 and if you see him fight, he should be a friggin bantamweight, or no higher than 122...fans and networks don't care about these fighters after their careers are over.
they use these guys up, then when they are done, spit them out
Look at manny...the most beloved fighter of the past 20 years and cant get a date on HBO, AFTER YEARS of wars, injuries, blood sweat and tears for that network. His numbers gradually dropped now they got rid of him,
something is wrong if you don't think fighters should get paid better. **** networks!!!

its dozens of fighters who explained their shady business practices. If you wanna be critical, be critical across the board instead of single out one guy when the entire sport needs an overhaul

Personally I thought boxing being on free TV meant boxing would get more exposure, I thought fighters would become stars again but it hasnt happened to 1. With all that $ Haymon has and what little money HBO has the most recognizable fighters still fight under HBO. I know PBC is still in its infancy BUT again with all that money I was hoping for a big CREATIVE push for the sport. More boxing is great, real fans enjoy watching boxing no matter what brand and enjoy up and comers but I dont care what people say, boxing fans all have a lil WWE fan in them and PBC has taken that out of the sport. Boxers are athletes first but they are also entertainers and the entertainment has left. Grant it there are good fights with knock outs but Klitchko used to KO people and look at his favor ability rating outside of Germany. Same concept goes for PBC, good athletes with no appeal, and a gain grant it some do have appeal but they are not marketed right and enough. Hell I bet if you were to take 100 people that didnt know **** about boxing show them an HBO advertisement for boxing between 2 bums and 1 for PBC with 2 champs, id bet my left nut that HBO is more appealing. Haymon would be doing himself favors if he got his fighters in commercials that broadcast throughout the day and on corny shows like dancing with the stars. Set his fighters up with celebrity dates, hell even put out a damn SEX TAPE!!! Again real boxing fans will always watch boxing but he isnt going to gain anymore by just putting fights on all the time, not in 2016.
As a hardcore boxing fan, do you want more boxing, or more boxing as presented by HBO? It's not casuals polluting this board with this nonsense, it's self-proclaimed 'hardcore' fans doing all the hating.
If you want to blame PBC's 'presentation' and 'marketing' for why it has not brought in more casuals, then fine. But why are YOU, as an alleged hardcore boxing fan, talking about 'WWE like entertainment', 'narrative', 'appeal', and 'marketing schemes' when you are being presented an opportunity to watch world class boxing on a more frequent basis?
UNLESS there is a different motive for hating on PBC, it just doesn't make sense.
And for the record, when you say:
People love(d) the HBO and even Showtime boxing platform more than what PBC is bringing. If PBC brought that to network television things would be great!
If the goal is to actually WIN, then that just doesn't make sense.
