yep, and floyd had a ppv history to claim that 30%, plus he went to oscars weight...

    1. (06/25/2005) W RTD6 Arturo Gatti (HBO PPV) 365,000 buys and $16,500,000 in revenue

and in your world GGG must concede every single detail to the opponent..... Give Jacobs $65 million bucks, fight Ward at 168 in Oakland, fight Canelo at 155 for a $2 million purse and no PPV upside.

why not call these obvious "reparations" what they really are insted of trying to be clever?

      • 1. The wonderful thing about negotiations is that the public can never be confident of what actually happens in the negotiation. It's not public so all they have to rely on is what the parties say happened and (surprise surprise) they can lie.

        2. IF ODLY actually wants to make the fight then he may still make a lowball offer, because why not? It's a negotiation after all and GGG may just take it.

        3. IF ODLY doesn't want to make the fight but wants to contain the damage to Canelo's reputation he can still enter a negotiation but just make a lowball offer he's confident GGG's team won't accept. And, in the unlikely event that they do just say '**** it' and accept, he can always retract the offer and go still lower until they back off. Then he just announces that GGG's team wouldn't accept a very fair offer. There will be plenty of idiots who take that as scripture. All GGG's team will be able to do is say that they were lowballed but they can't prove it.

        3. The biggest risk to Canelo is to not enter negotiations because that just feeds the perception that he's ducking. So I absolutely expect there to be negotiations. I'm just not at all confident they will result in an agreement. This latest statement by ODLH is just setting up that strategy.

GGG is the most false entitled fighter I have ever seen. Why should canelo give up weight or money when GGG has refused to do either to make better fights in his career? He uses the I am the A side so ward you either come down to catchweight or wait till I am ready for 168. But canelo who is a much bigger star then ggg is compared to fighters he makes demands to. But now the shoe is on the other foot. So GGG is allowed to make A side demands but canelo isnt? Phuk out here.

HBO won't even give GGG another HBO PPV because the one time they tried he bombed so bad. Canelo is green lit HBO PPVs and dates before he even announces an opponent. Even HBO who has been committed to GGG for years before canelo realizes who has the leverage and is the A side here.
Right . . . Your bias against Golovkin doesn't allow you to see this properly. When you crunch the numbers then you see that the split should be 65-35 in Canelo's favor.

          • I truly don't understand the haters on here.

This is supposed to be a boxing forum. How can you not find GGG an entertaining fighter who's good for the sport?

But we have all these people on here hating on GGG, and the funny thing is that they don't even know enough to either (a) criticize him technically, or (b) demonstrate the first clue about the nature of ANY business let alone the boxing business.

It's just sad. I truly don't understand what pleasure they get out of this sad trolling.

            • GGG will go down in history as a good boxer possibly great at a time when the MW Divison is one of the WORST ones. It's DOGSHT!!! With blown up ex-139 lbers running it like Cotto/Canelo.

And he also never did anything special to make himself great like moving up in weight or trying anything different then calling out and fighting guys TWO divisions below him..

              • It is not like Canelo has a ton of great options for big money, so while this initial position make sense they will eventually have to bargain if they want the biggest possible money fight. It can be delayed but that is his biggest option pretty clearly, so eventually a deal has to be made to make the fight because that is not getting it done most likely.

This fight is the biggest money fight in boxing today and GGG is 50% of why it's the biggest fight in boxing. Can you understand that? GGG isn't 5% or 10% or the the B side of why this is such a big fight.GGG is fully 50% of why it is such a rich fight. GGG's highest pay day to date is the Brook fight which isn't remotely as big a fight as the GGG vs Canelo fight. Do you think it's fair the GGG only gets a few dollars more for fighting Canelo than he did for fighting Brook? I sure as hell don't think that's fair. That's about as fair as Canelo only getting paid a few dollars more for fighting GGG than he will make for his fight with Smith next week. A 60 40 split in Canelo's favor sounds fair to me. That way Canelo is the A side but not to the point of absurdity. If they can't come to terms and this fight never happens then Canelo not only losses his biggest paid day he loses respect. GGG has already proven he has no fear of Canelo when he forced Canelo to vacate the title rather than fight him for purse bid money.GGG won't lose respect for turning down a lowball offer but Canelo will never get back the respect he lost until he fights GGG.
You are one dumb phuk. Floyd was 50% of the reason Oscar/Floyd was at the time the biggest money fight in boxing history. And Floyd brought more to the table then GGG did and still couldn't get anywhere near 50/50 split because Oscar was the draw and A side. Other then Oscar the next biggest fight of Floyd's career money wise up to that point was against canelo. Who also was a bigger draw then GGG and yet Canelo only got a 10/90 split with Floyd taking almost all the money. You idiots and your flimsy logic of why GGG should get more money then other bigger named stars, bigger fanbases, with better resumes and more PPV sales in their back pocket before they fought a A side fighter. Learn how the business works dummy. GGG can't even get an HBO PPV from his own network. He needs Canelo not the other way around.

ggg is the one who cant get fights, he should be willing to concede more , i didnt mention 2mil at 155, oscar clearly states a career payday(more than the brook fight so 6-7mil) at 160..
