I really like Golovkin's throwback style but Abel Sanchez has been the reason most of the hate Golovkin gets. Statements like that don't get grabbed and treated as the opinion of the trainer but instead get attached to the boxer and people run with it talking about "Golovkin said this and that".

It's Doug Fischer and what he DOESN'T know about boxing is still probably about 10 times more than what you DO know about boxing.

And as he is mixed race and obviously in favor of many fighters of all races when he highlights that many of the GGG haters are racists then it sounds a bit more believable coming from him. And who can deny that there are racists among all races?

I tend to enjoy reading his articles?? And he comes off as someone who knows a lot about boxing. He also sticks up for Canelo a lot and makes good cause of why.E even brought up that if Canelo takes another fight not at MW ring magazine will be dropping his Lineal title belt.

Its not the journalist or analyst job to judge a fighter's out of ring character, or criticize them, even mid fight in Larry Merchant's case....both of those guys are puppets who are used by their employees to push an agenda.

I can't speak for Larry Merchant but I find Fischer's commentary and assessment to be even handed. He gives credit where due and his analysis is penetrative and creditable. He dislikes Floyd not so much for his out of the ring behavior but because he feels he is too much of a businessman and that has had a negative effect on boxing in general and the WW division in particular.
He is on record as saying he was a huge fan of the pretty boy mayweather and that he also hopes that Pacquiao stays retired.
