He was managed by Lou Duva, but then Duva wanted to push my trainer Lucky out of the picture and have Tommy Brooks train him. Tommy Brooks is a complete idiot who doesn't commit to his fighters. He just tells the fighters the regimine, sits on his fat ass and reads wrestling magazines.

When Espinoza decided not to fight because he didn't feel comfortable without Lucky, Duva sued him and kept him out of boxing until his contract expired. Believe me on this one, its VERY VERY difficult to get a guarantee on a fight when you dont have the proper promotional team.

Boxing politics in NJ/NY are slightly different than in TX. Your trainer asks you to fight every week? Your a pro? My trainer never tried to force me to fight against my will, let alone once a week or anything like that. I never turned down a fight, of course, cuz my trainer know me well and knows when I'm ready.

in asian countries they are often moved very fast

look at koki kameda hes just as of friday 11-0 10 kos and he is getting a world title shot

eagle kyawo made another defense of his wbc strawweight title today against rodel mayol and eagle now has 17 fights
          rodel just had 22-23 fights
calderon was 15-0 when he won the wbo strawweight title

maybe its just the lighter weights like that having less western exposure i dont know but they move a lot faster there it seems

                I would seriously question this.
With the level of fighting today fighting once a week will literally kill you.
fighting once a month also is very unhealthy.
Boxing training destroys your body more than the actual fighting(I mean fight preparation, not keep-in-shape training)

i always say if u continue training and dont stop(like i do) u should be used to it and wont bother u to fight once a month. if u hardly get hit

Maybe you need a new trainer because that may be the worst advice I had ever heard in my life. That is totally unprofessional of a trainer to suggest something like that. I am shocked that a trainer would say that.

If you are an am, than fighting once a month is acceptable, but pro fighting is the whole diff. story. Dont matter if you always keep yourself in shape.
