I got a contact high from this post. Wtf you talking about?
HBO's budget for boxing has been dropping for 15ish years. PBC has been around since 2015. HBO isn't doing anything different budget-wise due to PBC.
And HBO will sign the top fighters if PBC folds???? Go look at the P4P rankings. They HAVE the top fighters brother. Cmon man I expect better from you. You aren't the average momo around here.Comment

They aren't televising Pacquiao's ppv, are they? That alone is different from what they've done in the past.
Admittedly it's just speculation on my part...but it's very possible that the powers that be over there saw that Haymon was going to affect the boxing industry. And until they are sure of how everything is going to shake out they want to play it safe and pinch their pennies.
If Haymon's money runs out (and for the record I hope he succeeds, not that he fails) then they will be the biggest player in town again and can swoop in to pick up the pieces.Comment

To me that is HBO saying hey knucklehead that isn't even a PPV fight. And there seems to be wayyyyy more going on with Nelson & Arum than with HBO boxing in regards to the many issues HBO & TR have been having as of late. Arum was ****ting on Nelson well before Nelson took his position as the head of sports.
Again did they see it 15 years ago? They Tom Crusie Minority Reported this situation a decade before? There is a trend that is easy to see. HBO has bigger fish to fry than Showtime Boxing or PBC. They are major players in a bigger game. People talking about HBO Boxing like they do are like guys who talk about the lil corner deli section in high regard of a huge popular grocery store chain that gives few f#cks about that lil corner deli of their huge store. HBO Boxing can be severely reconstructed cuz its a tiny piece of the HBO puzzle & its become a tinier part over the last decade & a half.Admittedly it's just speculation on my part...but it's very possible that the powers that be over there saw that Haymon was going to affect the boxing industry. And until they are sure of how everything is going to shake out they want to play it safe and pinch their pennies.
If PBC fails bet on it that HBO's budget isn't changing much. The writing has been on the wall well before PBC was in play. HBO is bigger than boxing & their competitors are bigger than boxing. If anything I foresee Netflix throwing $20M+ on boxing before I see us going back to HBO having a $50M+ budget. If Haymon's money runs out (and for the record I hope he succeeds, not that he fails) then they will be the biggest player in town again and can swoop in to pick up the pieces.Comment

We'll see, Eff Pandas. Maybe you are right.
But in an uncertain time in the industry HBO has played it safe and isn't overextending their resources. That may end up being very smart in the long run.Comment
