It is a no win in some ways, but the payday is good and if you accept the narrative offered by Hearn and Loeffler it was essentially lose out on a fight date or bring in some second tier MW at short notice for whom Golovkin would undoubtedly also gain criticism. That's not to sugarcoat it - it's a BS fight (though I admit it has grown on me somewhat) but it ain't like there was a huge range of options at the time the Eubank fight fell through.
