Yea, but let's not forget Solis – there's a Cuban who did fall victim to gluttony.

I really hope that Luis Ortiz knows what the hell he's doing. Think about it from this perspective in one calendar year he was on the Lemieux vs GGG Pay Per View then got 2 main event slots on regular HBO and had an opportunity to be the Co Main Event on the Canelo undercard.

What else does he want? Golden Boy worked hard to get him where he's at today now he's another fighter who seems to have lost his way. One shot from the Fury vs Wladimir winner now he's probably fighting in Russia where he gets no exposure instead of on a Canelo undercard.

Unbelievable. Best of luck to him. I'm interested to see who Golden Boy pushes hard now that Luis Ortiz is out.

Jorge luis gonzalez was another. Solis' promoter (that Oner guy who had HA as security for his events in Turkey) got him showtime slots, eliminators & a title fight & then he quit on his stool in the 2nd Thompson fight. Oner was furious! Surprised to see Solis fighting again & weighing only 240. Solis had the backing, he just chose to be lazy.

Seems like a bad move. Maybe he can ride that WBA belt to a Fury/Wlad fight but if not he's only getting older, isn't a big name and isn't appealing on the risk/reward scale to the top names in the division.

If he appears in the Kov-Ward card I'm guessing it's on either Roc or Duva's dime so maybe he signs with one of them. Can they really get him better fights than GB?

He's old, a former cheat, and has nothing going for him at GBP. He felt it was time to go so we will see.

looks like another caribe situation like Rigo. Shady amateur promoters lock these cuban fighters up and ruin their fighters careers. According to reports the beef had nothing to do with Ortiz and Golden Boy. Dade promotions was meddling and trying to tell Golden Boy how to do their job. Golden Boy defended him and rebounded his career after he got busted with Roids, got him the fights he needed to get in position for a title, got him multiple HBO fights, and lined him up with a high profile fight on undercard of Canelo PPV. Now he will make less money because his promoter didn't bid and will have to travel to Russia in a fight that probably doesn't air in the states.

Good for him! At least it did not take long to do! Will be interesting to see what is his next move! Nothing against GBP but they just don't have anything to offer him in the Heavyweight Division

These Cuban Boxers are some DUMB MFers! Between Gamboa, Rig. , And now Ortiz they all don't know sht about the business side of boxing. Oscar was doing GREAT with him! Kept trying to put him on PPV undercards for exposure and he kept pulling out of them. Good Luck with Caribe Sports 2.0

Seems like a bad move, but pretty standard for a Cuban pro. Even as a Cuban amateur turned pro fanboy I can see those guys are ****ty at boxing business/career decisions.
                    Yup! Dumb as ROCKS!!!
