He was getting some decent HBO slots. It's not like he's now a free agent and can go anywhere else, then it might be understandable. He's with a two-bit promotion company that nobody has ever heard of and no influence to get good airtime or anything.

Exactly. This is not a situation of a fighter buying out of his contract to be a free agent to sign with another promoter. He's likely on a slave deal he signed with Dade and they bought Golden Boy out looking to cash in on the work Golden Boy made. I think it's very unlikely there is another promoter getting in the mix. I really hope that Luis Ortiz knows what the hell he's doing. Think about it from this perspective in one calendar year he was on the Lemieux vs GGG Pay Per View then got 2 main event slots on regular HBO and had an opportunity to be the Co Main Event on the Canelo undercard.

What else does he want? Golden Boy worked hard to get him where he's at today now he's another fighter who seems to have lost his way. One shot from the Fury vs Wladimir winner now he's probably fighting in Russia where he gets no exposure instead of on a Canelo undercard.

I wouldnt be surprised in the next few weeks to hear that Dade and Richard Shaeffer have made some kind of deal. Unless these Dade people are complete morons, there is no good reason to buy out GBs share, since Dade has no access to HBO / Showtime dates.

The only thing that makes sense is if Shaeffer is lurking behind the scenes. They would definitely have kept that on the DL because if Oscar knew Shaeffer was involved he would have raised the buyout price 100x over lol

And where are the other Dade Promotions fighters fighting? Golden Boy got fighters fighting HBOPPV, HBO, R1ngTVLive, Estrella TV, ect. What are the networks that Dade has relationships with? This would of been Ortiz's 4th straight HBO card (2 headline shows and 1 PPV undercard).
