    Outgrew the division doe

    176 doe

.... But seriously I have no doubts that he can still make 147, cause after he loses to Golovkin he'll need to go back there to regain career momentum assuming he doesn't pull a Khan and sit out while talking any and everything but boxing.

Both are very sturdy pressure fighters with great skill and and ring IQ, Golovkin is better at range, Spence is better inside, but both cut the ring off well, they're both vicious body punchers, with great accuracy and timing.

Spence would be looking to get inside Brook more so than Golovkin, so Kell could get the better of him if he could stay on the outside and control the range, but against Golovkin, Kell can't do anything on the outside either. The huge size disadvantage obviously doesn't help.
      This.

Brook beats Spence right now imo for precisiely the reason you mentioned. Controlling distance. It is Kell's bread and butter and I think Spence would have issues getting past his jab.

As for Brook vs GGG. It is an absolute nightmare style matchup for Kell. Even if they were the same size, Brook would be ****ed. Imo it will take a superb inside fighter to really neutralize what Golovkin does. That or someone that can take his firepower and dish it out as well.

I would bet against Brook fighting Spence.

If Brook really wanted to come back down to 147 he wouldn't have come at 176 on the scales, one month prior to the fight.

"I've become world champion, and now I get excited by fighting the best out there."

Gavin, Dan, and Bizier are who he's fought since becoming champion. It sounds like Brook believes those are the best fighters out there. If Brook had another mandatory against someone like Bizier does anyone believe Brook would be facing G? Brook moved up so when he gets ko'd its no surprise and he gets credit for taking such a tough fight. If not Brook would be ko'd be some young, unproven kid for slightly more than he's been making.

Brook pulled out of a fight with gatekeeper Chaves to fight Bizier. Literally. Brook has had his chances to prove he wants to fight the best and instead he has proven he wants the worst possible opponents. When you pull out, no delay or postponement but just straight pulling out of a fight against a gatekeeper to fight another bum no one has ever heard of you lose all respect. Brook isn't defending his WW ever again. Of course he's not going to say that Spence might murder him in the ring, he's going to say he will fight Spence. What else can he say? That he knows G will beat him easily? That he is scared to death of this kid everyone wants to watch fight? Once he loses, he will vacate and probably go to 154.

Fair enough, you can read what you like into his statements, but you said 'at least he's honest about it being a money grab' - whereas he doesn't say that it's a money grab at all - in Kells world I'm pretty sure he thinks he's 'daring to be great' ... well .. and rich.
No way does he drop to fight 147 Spence after beating the most revered name in boxing just absolutely no ****ing way!
He will likely bait Khan into a super fight, good domestic fight and then target a Canelo clash suffice to say he'd be rolling in the dough

Boxing is one of those damned if you don't, damned if you do type of things.

If he said no thanks to Spence, he'd be ducking him.
When he said he'll go back and defend his WW IBF, he's after a Golovkin money grab.

Brook really should have phrased his response better. Right now he just sounds like he knows he's gonna lose and then come back to 147. His response should have been more tactful. Something like...

"If I lose against Golovkin September 10th, I will go home and evaluate my options. If I decide to return to WW, I have no problems fighting Errol Spence and would look forward to that fight since he's an excellent fighter".

Jon Jones cuts about 20lbs every time he fights at 205lbs, Brook is likely cutting about the same as is Golovkin to make 160lbs.

Very normal to cut these type of weights but cutting back 30 to 40 or more is a different story why do you think Chino didn't return.

You need to have all the doubt in the world. He has struggled for a long time making 147 and now that he is allowed for his weight to spike and add more muscle, no way does he make 147 ever again and only a fool would try to under those circumstances because of the health ramifications. 147 is done for him.

Nope, Spence doesn't need to fight 1 or 2 more times. I'm.tired of waiting for these welters to fight and on top of it Spence is the mandatory. Make it happen cap'n.
