I wonder how many times we have to repeat this friend? Scribes are constantly after him for interviews. What's he to say? "Oh I doubt my guy Kov beats Ward, but hey we gotta do this fight, so..."
Exactly. Glad to see a few fans bring up this reality... although I think Ward's better than some think he is. But no worries, we'll find out soon enough. I just hope like he!! it isn't some lame ref allowing a Ward hug n' headbutt fest all night long.
Yep
So, friend, you're ok with dirty fighters?
Ward takes punches every fight. Especially uppercuts and other counters. He'll definitely get a wakeup call soon enough vs Kov.
I just hope Ward gets a wakeup call and gets deducted points for that b.s. If you can't win a fight fair and square, IMO you haven't won the fight. I don't care what the official results say.
Foolish and ridiculous to underrate any boxer that hasn't lost an amateur or pro fight in 20 years, is an Olympic Gold medalist, undefeated in 30 professional fights and is a former unified and Lineal World Champion.Comment

He would NEVER deduct a point against Ward and not the other guy.
He had to do something in the Rodriguez fight, because he knew otherwise he would look very bad.In which fight was Reiss crooked and has Reiss been crooked in the other 500+ fights he has refereed? And if he was crooked, does that include the numerous Golovkin victories he has refereed?
Reiss has been shady in numerous fights, and he has a big ego (likes to be the center of attention). He tried to help Arreola against Adamek, but Adamek won anyway.Last edited by The Hammer; 08-23-2016, 03:16 PM.Comment

Then why are you talking about it? Why did you quote me and ask me a question about something that "isn't really worth talking about"? And since you "don't know" hiw many points Golovkin has had deducted, and seemingly dont want to do quick research to find out, let me tell you. The answer is none, zero. That's a clean fighter. Not one who has had points deducted for low blows. Not one that has committed unsportsmanlike conduct in the ring. And your defense of Ward being dirty: well, the other guy was dirty too. That doesnt mean Ward is any cleaner. That doesnt mean he doesnt lead with his forehead and clinch a lot. Ward is not a clean boxerComment

My challenge to you is to find a fighter with more points deducted than Andre Ward.Comment

Don't waste you time, people are always going to biased and not look at all the facts. They see and hear what they want to and nothing will change that.Comment

That seems to be JDJ only hope is that Ward has no power and Kovalev can walkthrough him. Because if he can't knock Ward out, he's not out boxing Ward. If he can't get to Ward with his power, what is Plan B or C? I don't think they have a plan other than they think Ward has no power and they will knock him out.Comment

Don't think power is gonna matter at all. If Ward is strong enough to fight in a clinch/inside like he did @ SMW, that's all he'll needs in the strength/power department.
I think the actual factors will be completely different.
Can Kovalev fight inside or dictate his own tempo?
Can Kovalev land a few flush shots.. and if yes --
Can Ward's chin hold up against legit LHW power?
Even Floyd, who's a better defensive fighter than Ward, absorbed some flush shots. If Kovalev lands a few shots that Pac and Maidana landed on Floyd, can Ward's chin hold up?Comment
