If HBO is willing to commit 3 episodes of 24/7 to Kovalev-Ward (two weeks before the fight and an epilogue during the re-air), Kovalev-Ward is a big enough competitive fight that the mainstream interest in the fight will push the PPV number, in my estimation, comfortably over 400k PPV buys.

It's the Canelo Alvarez show, so, at this point, the opponent doesn't really matter.

Alvarez's next event is on Mexican Independence Day weekend, in the heart of Texas.

The fact that the Smith fight is four months after the Khan fight, by default, would leave the expectation that the Smith fight does better business.

don't even care. but hbo's priorities are screwed, Peter nelson must have some fragile feelings if he's okay with canelo-khan, golovkin-brook, ward-brand, kovalev-mohammedi....but not two welterweights, Pacquiao and a guy coming off a good knockout win (on your network). I understand you wanted Crawford, but where are even your standards?

And I also think this really has nothing to do with his anti gay comments.

I think just like HBO felt about Mosley Vs Pacquiao, they know this fight is not gonna sell or atlest won't turn a profit.
Bro , He made anti gay comments, the LGBT mafia run the media

            Nike drops him

            HBO drops him
HBO is facing backlash for working with Manny Pacquiao following his February comments in which he said homosexuals are “worse than animals.”

Why would those channel deal with the backslash???

Pac has turned into a complete joke, glad HBO canned him.

Pac is falling to pieces, Nike now HBO, he let a lot of people down. I would be embarrassed to call myself a Pac fan. No wonder everyone's turning their backs on him after he completely stunk out the fight of the century. Then he has the audacity to pull a worst stunt than David Haye with Shoulder Salt gate.

Now this hypocrite wants to hang accused drug dealers? Even though he once was one, how funny.

Given how low the Canelo-Smith buy-rate appears to be, it'll interesting to see what Pacquiao-Vargas PPV numbers do without HBO.
