Show me anything prior to the event that stated this was supposed to be the official kickoff press conference for Ward vs. Kovalev. It's Duva finally getting her time to shine and she's jumping the gun. She went rogue with this even and it turned into a ****show.
It's possible that they are trying to create controversy just to sell the fight.

Now let's look at fights with a date and venue but with a fighter who has a history of pulling out of fights. Brook vs. Golovkin. Brook has a history of pulling out of fights but you don't see people saying that fight won't happen.

It's pretty clear to me what's going on. Certain people don't want to see the fight happen. They're concern trolls.
EXACTLY! I think a lot of them want OUT but they want Ward to be the blame for it to keep a Perception going. HBO is very much invested in this fight, I think it is in Ward Contract! The fight will get done, but I see people overreacting once again like they did for Crawford vs Postol

After Ward vs Kovalev becomes official most of these guys will disappear like they did after Crawford vs Postol became official after they accused Crawford of "DUCKING"

The bout is headed for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Following extended talks with Ward’s promoter, rapper Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports, Kovalev promoter Kathy Duva said arena operator MGM Grand helped ease tensions between the two sides.

“We are moving ahead quickly and are all focused on doing the fight at T-Mobile Arena,” Duva said.

“We’re just ironing out the details now. I have great optimism all the details will be ironed out in the next day or so, and then hopefully we’ll be making an announcement on tickets.”

          Doesn't fancy it against Kovalev?
          ...
          ... I'll try an answer...

... the U.S. "specialists" reckon that Ward is so good that he beats Kovalev via "schooling" -- i.e. by fencing, speed in going in and out, roughhousing, by staying onto Kova's chest, a.s.o. -- in short, by a hugfest...

... on the other hand, Ward knows that Kovalev is a more complex and better puncher(/boxer) as compared to Kessel, Froch or (hell)!) Boone...

          ...

He refused to talk about Kovalev in the build up to Brand saying I am focusing completely on Brand. Doesn't bother with the press conference recently!

Is he upset because he cannot dictate terms to Kovalev like the stiffs he's been fighting & home field advantage will be taken away too? Right proper diva..
Dude is shook and preparing to duck like I said he would. I hope the fight happens though because I know what is going to happen. Killa Kove is going to pummel his arms, shoulders, face, stomach, and head with shots until he breaks down. He either gets caught and dropped outright or quits on his stool, broken from the punishment accrued over the grueling rounds.

I got the sense that Ward wasn't particularly satisfied with the Brand fight....not necessarily that he doesn't like his chances against Kovalev.
