Is nationality the main criteria in determining whether you like a boxer?

      I think the better question would be is nationality the main reason people DISLIKE fighters.

      There's a lot more people who hate on guys just because they're from nation X.

                    Nationality is not so bad as race. You can be white, brown, black and still root for your fellow Mexican or Puerto Rican. What is clear is blacks almost consistently root for blacks regardless of nationality.
