Boxrec does not have the fight itself listed. It is blank. They don't mention a knockdown in the notes as they sometimes do, but... from Wikipedia... I know, but it's easier to find info there than on google and sometimes Boxrec...

Kovalev started his career with a first-round KO of Daniel Chavez at Greenboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.[1] He won his first nine fights with first- or second-round knockout.
He faced more serious competition against Darnell Boone in October 2010, when he had to fight all eight rounds, and was dropped en route to a split decision win.

Boone throws bricks and didn't knock Kov down. A quick google search seems to have him suffering a knock down in the amateurs.

I think the consensus is he has a very good chin, Pascal hit him with some good shots but never had Kov hurt.

Ward has more pop that say, Mayweather (relative to their weight classes) but we can't say if it's enough to get respect from good fighters because he hasn't been in with any top punchers in a long time. Just my opinion.

What he's saying is that he hits hard enough to keep fighters off of him. They aren't just walking through his punches. At least that's the way I interpreted it.

Ward has more than enough power to keep Kovalev honest.

It's like some of you guys started watching boxing yesterday.

Pacquiao was NEVER going to walk through Mayweather's punches, and Kovalev will not walk through Ward's.

That fight has " decision " written all over it.

I'm taking bets Kov doesn't get dropped, Andre might win the fight but he ain't dropping Kovalev.

Even if Ward isn't a power puncher, it's still not a good idea to keep getting hit by him.

Floyd isn't a power puncher either, but his accuracy makes up for it.
