I wasn't considering those sad numbers against Lemieux as even being worthy of mentioning. I feel the same way about Crawford too. : )

No, Canelo never fought a MW. But he fought for the lineal title, knowing all along that GG was his mandatory.

He could have saved all of this criticism by just relinquishing the belt after Cotto and issuing a statement which said he didn't feel comfortable at MW yet but the opportunity to fight Cotto was too good to turn down. Everyone would have respected that. People appreciate honesty. But he put in a voluntary request to fight Khan giving everyone the impression that he wanted to fight GG afterwards. Then they said that the WBC's deadlines were unreasonable, even though they knew of them months in advance. Then they were dropping the belt to make negotiations easier. But then negotiations never took place and he went on to sign a contract to fight Liam Smith instead.

Canelo and Oscar deserve all they get.

Things could have played out a lot different with a bit of honesty and common sense.

He gives Brooks some good props for taking the fight which is pretty on point.

I do wish Golovkin's team would have taken the extra few days or whatever it would have been to make the original fight happen with Eubank Jr. More and more I'm thinking about how much more intriguing that fight would have been. With Brook it's seems like it's just going to be a KO waiting game like Canelo vs Khan was.
It wouldn't have taken just an extra few days to get the Eubank fight.

Eubank Snr's ego went into overdrive.

He wanted full operational control over every aspect of the promotion.

He wanted to double the PPV and the ticket prices etc.

They said they were relinquishing the belt to make negotiations easier. But they went out and signed to fight Liam Smith. It was only after that fight had been made official that Oscar then spoke with K2 about a possible fight at some point next year.

Put your hatred of GG to one side and wake up to the fact that Oscar DOES NOT want Canelo to fight GG at this stage of his career.
27 yr old, 9 month Lineal Middleweight Champion Canelo has no reason to fight Golovkin yet especially when B-side Golovkin won't agree to Canelo's terms. So you want to make a career payday off of my name and attempt to get my title(s) but you want it on your terms? C'mon now. That's not going to work for Golovkin when Canelo has options at Jr Middleweight and Middleweight.

                Of course they're not.

There wasn't even any negotiations with Canelo.

Eddie Hearn has hung out Eubank Snr in public.

He's tarnished his reputation by revealing his crazy demands.

That was over 4 weeks ago.

Has Eubank Snr denied any of these accusations?

                  No.

                  Don't you think that's odd?

I've been watching Snr for over 20 years, and trust me, if Eddie was lying, Snr would have responded within the hour.

It's you who needs to open their eyes.

That's because Snr never gave it to him because he wanted a new contract with ridiculous terms.

In what world was Golovkin "forced" to fight on September 10 in the UK and/or forced to fight a Welterweight? Both of these actions are choices and any boxer would be and should be criticized when they make the exact same choices that they have been publicly critical of when done by others. Hypocrisy is alive and well at K2.
No, he didn't have a gun to his head. But everything had been set up. The long standing date, his training camp etc. It would have been nonsensical to turn it down.

Although he's fighting a WW like Canelo did, it was a last minute replacement after fights agaianst Canelo and Eubank couldn't be made.
