Yes, but my initial point was that we're only in this sorry situation because Oscar and Canelo conned everyone into believing they wanted a GG fight after Khan.

Yes, and I remember he called him the biggest conman in boxing.

Add the "never let a WB beat me"

Don't expect Nard to praise GGG when he couldn't praise Joe C, and to be fair Nard has the point altough Kahn never had the chin to go 12 rounds +154.

Nard and Calzaghe basically did the same things, staying for more than a decade in the same division, and both get critisized for that back in time.

Yet, Calzaghe maybe fought better opposition in Reid, Kessler, Eubank or Bika (Better than Joppy, Allen and blown up Oscar and Trinidad).

            Starving fighters can't do that.

Hopkins is taller than GGG yet he was able to make Oscar's catchweight.....
Since GGG is sooooo small...he should easilly be able to make Canelo's catchweight.
Bernard made incredible sacrifices to fight at MW, literally measuring pieces of his food, even when he wasn't in camp.

He was never a natural MW.

He started out at CW and had numerous fights above the MW limit in the early part of his career. He only fully committed to the MW division in 1993.

In 2008, he admitted that he could have moved up to LHW years earlier had he have wanted to.

Unlike Hopkins...GGG is not about taking any chances at all.
              Really??

This is a guy who defended his IBF, MW title for SIX YEARS before King's tournament.

This is a guy who turned down a huge rematch with Roy, before having a year out of the ring.

This is a guy who remained at MW for a further 4 years AFTER he'd obtained all of the belts.

This was a guy who moved out of the MW division at 41 years of age, because he'd got nowhere else to go after losing back to back fights against Taylor.

This was a guy who in 2008, admitted that he could have moved up to LHW 6 years earlier, but he didn't want to give up the advantages that he had.

Despite all of the above, you think that if he'd have been in GG's current position with 3 of the 4 belts, at 34, and being GG's size at 5'10 with a 70" reach, that he'd have moved up?

              Really?

No. I doubt it very much.

He didn't move up in his own career when the SMW and LHW divisions were hot, so there's no reason to believe he would if he was now stood in GG's shoes.

              It's a complete fantasy.

Yep. with time Hopkins' own legacy of beating up tomato cans for years and stepping up against good style match ups and/or smaller fighters will be obvious to everyone.

Let's see somebody from mexico do what Hopkins did...dominate at 160..then move up to win a title at 175.

                    Don't hold your breath.

Watch who you hate on lil fella'.

Hopkins got a lot of stick for not moving up too and he wasn't claiming he'd beat everyone from 154-168 at every opportunity.
