Canelo can say whatever he wants, I don't care either way, but he ducked GGG. Or moreso his team did to protect their investment. The weight was most certainly not an issue for what he weighs on fight night. Just like Freddie and Manny used to drain guys down so they couldn't rehydrate properly by fight time (that Oscar fight should've been WAY better). Now Oscar is a part of trying to pull all that crap. Poobanks' dad loaded the deck knowing GGG wouldn't take the fight. Hagler, Hearns, etc need to sit these people down and talk to them about legacy and what fighting the best really means. PC garbage today.

Why did K2 and Trip HAVE to accept Brook. September 10th was Hearns date, his venue, his event. The only restraint K2 had was getting a fight before Alvarez and that is self imposed. Absolutely nothing prevented them from saying no to Brook, asking God for DeGale, and asking the WBA to force the Jacobs fight like they asked the IBF to assign a new mandatory so they could get it out the way.Comment

I don't understand how anyone would say GGG hasn't had competitive fights. He's fought everyone in the Division that would fight him. Who else in the division should he fight? Eubanks, Saunders, Alvarez? They're all talk. I guess until he fights Ward no one will think much of him. Brook has the testicular fortitude to step in the ring with him. Good for him. Maybe the rest in the MW division just aren't good enough to face him. Again not GGGs fault. And by the way to make fun of his grasp of the English language is ridiculous.Comment

Canelo has NEVER fought a MW fighter.
Cotto is not a MW.
One fight at 160 does not make a MW.
GGG(a "small MW") couldn't make a catchweight to make his big money fight...but Hopkins(much taller than GGG) was able to make Oscar's catchweight in order to make that money.
GGG is not about taking chances whatsoever.Comment

They aren't MWs but why campaign at that weight when they don't want to fight a certain person. Accolades yeah but I'm sure if GGG wasn't in that division they'd be fighting more MWs. Catch weight n all since they both bring in the money.
I believe he didn't go down in weight because he was the mando and he knew canelo wasn't a small guy. Draining is crucial especially at his age. Can't really compare Hopkins with him. Different body composition and genes but I see your point. Not everyone is an alien though.
I agree. I don't think he wants to take a chance at his age but honestly he doesn't need to. He's another late bloomer like Martinez and look what happened to him.Comment
