It's not that, the sorry alt you're replying to has been explained 5x at least, he just doesn't like to learn. Hopkins explained 3 months ago:

Oscars promoter Arum made him a big money offer to fight Wbo paper champ, former 130 champ, at 158. No mando, the midget just wanted the challenge. Hops didn't want a Cw, tried negotiating up to 159, then 158.5. They wouldn't budge, the money was great, opponent legit undersized so he took it.

Canelo was ordered to negotiate and he didn't even make any offer, at reasonable 158 or pathetic 155, much less for generous money. He knew he'd become boxings laughing stock if he gave up the belt but he thought that's better than entering the ring vs Ggg

September 10th was the HBO date given to GGG. By time Eubanks pulled their bs, they had nine weeks. That's one week to get replacement before 8 week camp starts. So yea, they pretty much had to take what was available.

They get a fight that sold out in 12 minutes, huge exposure, and 5m.

Degale is signing to fight a another fight. And Jacobs got out of the mandatory when he made the Mora fight.

And of all other opponents, Brooks has better odds. He's 8-1. Ward v Brand is 85-1. The fight isn't that bad. Brooks isn't a small fighter.

Considering it was plan E. A. Canelo, b. Susnders, C. Jacobs, D. Eubanks, and e. Brook, it isn't that bad.

Oh I see. Guess most boxers don't take chances going down in weight.

I always thought he said yes to 155 with an A-side side split (yes a ridiculous one) but didn't know he never negotiated those terms. I thought GGG just didn't want to fight at a catchweight since it was for a 160 belt. I agree with him taking heat instead of losing but I always wondered if he's the reason or DLH. Then again he keeps making comments about GGGs resume not being all that and goes and signs a deal with liam smith instead of Andrade or at least a Charlo bro to counter that heat. That's what gets me about canelo. It's obvious what he and/or DLH are doing.

GGG obviously wants money since canelo doesn't have the belt anymore and keeps talking about him. I say he handles his business with the three remaining MWs in jacobs eubank and Billy and then move onto the top SMWs. Hopefully from there we will see how great he is against top opposition(higher than all the top ten fighters he's pretty much demolished) and finally gets some respect from some fans.

155 was a feeble bluff. Canelo folded just in case it gets called, they had no intention of fighting Ggg at any weight. His popularity has suffered for sure but he's still #1 draw in boxing , that's not one foot out the door at least. And Canelo vs Ggg is still the biggest fight in the sport

Yeah GGG was out of time. What does ward have to do with it though? That's just a tuneup anyway for the big enchilada coming with kovalev.

Brook isn't a small fighter but you're just going to get heat because he's never fought at MW. But considering those plans didnt work, plan E isn't that bad at all. Just wish it would have been at least a top SWW.

Makes sense. Wouldn't mind seeing that fight but I doubt canelo can handle him. Rather see a true challenge. But hey, it's always entertaining watching knock outs.
