Carl Frampton...Where was the respect? (American fans)

I seen so many of you say that Frampton has made a fan out of you and you had never seen him fight, which is good, but ultimately it also shows a lack of respect and quite a bit of ignorance. Why did so many of you pick Santa Cruz without knowing anything about Frampton and in a lot of cases I see many of you hadn't even seen him fight. You are supposed to be hardcore boxing fans.

I don't get this attitude at all, I always do my research on fighters, especially when a lot of fans are talking highly of a particular fighter. It feels like a lot of you stereotype fighters, and I saw a lot of comments dismissing Frampton as a soft touch. In the build up it felt like a lot of American fans didn't believe that a white/Irish fighter could be a slick elite level boxer puncher. Thats the way it came across.

This guy is a complete fighter, he can punch, he can box, and he can brawl when he needs or wants to, some of the things he was doing last night were unbelievable and he had so much more variety than Santa Cruz, he was using pull-counters, up-jabs, check left hook was landing all night, this guy has got great variety.

I picked against Frampton because he was going up in weight and didn't think he had the defense confuse LSC or to stop LSC's high workrate nor could he keep up with LSC's workrate. And I thought if Gonzalez knocked him down twice, LSC would KO him. And the Quigg fight wasn't really impressive. But in the end Frampton was right about being a different fighter when he moves up. I was impressed last night.

I've seen Frampton fight in his last three fights so I thought Cruz would stop him for high work rate but he proved me wrong

I was kind of surprised myself how Frampton was being slept on by most.
I though more people would of been picking him.

              Because

Slick American bruvva > Mexican warrior > stiff eurobum

Occasionally a fighter bucks that trend and catches us off guard

I knew Frampton was special but I had Leo really high up. I still think he could be Selby and Coralles, Vargas, Salido and Pedraza at 130. Which means only Loma and Walters beat him at 130.

Also Frampton was viewed as having ran from Rigo to cash out vs Leo.

I've never seen Frampton til today (watched it today on replay) , but I've read plenty about him. Knew he was good. But how good -- that I didn't know. And personally I didn't even really have a prediction in this one...only thing I had to go off of was that Santa Cruz was favored in the fight by most. Or more than not anyway.

I was impressed, though. Frampton showed a pretty damn nice account of himself.

I picked LSC to win because I felt Leo's pressure and activity would be too much for Frampton, and ultimately win him a decision.

I also figured that if the fight was close, the judges would ultimately favor LSC since he was the champion, fighting on a Haymon card and is one of Haymon's favorites, and I felt he would have the crowd on his side.

Everyone knew this was a 50-50 fight and the fight turned out to be good and close. Anyway, don't confuse biased fans with fans that recognized this was 50-50 fight and happened to favor LSC.
