It just goes to show that Cruz-Haymon era in Cruz's career has only stunted and probably regressed his evolution as a fighter. Since he has been with Haymon he has fought only bums and he has only fought 5 times before the Frampton fight and 4 of those were against bums and the one good fight was against a broken Mares.

The Santa Cruz that was with Golden Boy was fighting better quality competition and improving with each fight. He was being brought along well and had a bright future. The GBP Santa Cruz would of beat Frampton.

His lack of quality fights and lack of rds showed in the Frampton fight. He was tired and he was hesitant and his timing was off all of which happen to Haymon fighters because they fight so rarely and when they do they fight bums.
Santa Cruz was always garbage. He was Juan Diaz v2. Volume pressure fighter that punches so soft he cant wear you down throwing 100 punches a round.

I wasn't surprise that Leo was made the favourite, Carl only just moved up and i had money on him winning. He was fighting the champion, in the champs country and in the champs weight class, so no surpise there at all. I just knew the Jackal would get the nod.

I watched with my GF, when they anounced santacruz was the favorite, I was so sad I didnt look into betting on the fight, because anyone that knows boxing knows santacruz was a propped up paper champion that was going to lose that fight.

It wasnt even a question, when I saw the fight was on it was "oh, santacruz has no chance of winning this, he isn't talented enough" kind of thing. Where just instantly you knew it was a matchup he couldn't win.

I would have thought it would have been like atleast 3-1 odds for Frampton
