You heard wrong about open scoring. it's absolutely horrible. Proof - O'Neil Bell vs Jean Marc Mormeck II. first fight was fight of the year, a classic, absolute war. Second fight in France had open scoring. First four rounds was a ****er, it was just like the first fight, a war. Super close, it was anyones guess who was winning at that point but then they read the cards - the hometown judges had Mormeck winning every round. Completely killed the action from that point on. Mormeck knowing he was way ahead went on his bike, complete 180. Fight was horrible after that. Bell just chasing him trying to make it a fight with Mormeck running circles in the ring.

It's been proven time and time again to suck. It's horrible.

-Canelo was a huge name at that time (check his ratings in Mexico). Canelo was a star long before Hatton. And if you think the WBC wasn't aware of this then I don't know what to tell you.

Hatton had also no business fighting for a vacant belt at 154, a division he didn't fight in. He wasn't even a top welterweight , not even close. A journeyman. You lnow that, or at least should. It was simply an easy fight for Canelo to win a WBC world title. Let's not pretend the WBC doesn't do stuff like this all the time, like how they got Chavez Jr a belt even though Sergio Martinez was champion, etc.
No Ic could of sworn I seen it before??? I just can't freaking remeber which fight it was??? I think it didn't matter though because there was a KO??? I believe??

You do realize that they chose September for the biggest matchup of the year instead of Cinco de Mayo, right? It's puzzling that they wouldn't choose the biggest holiday weekend for boxing to make a buck. If I was you, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that date.

I read an article in Sweet Science from 2012 that said open scoring had been used once in Arkansas, several times in PR, and that Texas used it in WBC championship bouts Chavez v Rubio and Morales v Garcia

Even tho Canelo looked like a punk after his last statement, he's only telling the truth here. Why does Bumlovin merit anything? Why is he making demands like he's the A-side?
To make such a statement is akin to forgetting everything that's happened up til now. The GGG fight all but fell into Canelo's lap, & he walked away. He could have acquired 2 more championship belts, & made a ton of money. Let's be fair, Canelo's biggest payday at this point is against GGG. And he walked away from it. Even if he was the A-side, he was in no position to ask for 155 or enforce his mandatory to fight at any other weight but 160. He already was going to get the lion's share of the purse from what would be the biggest ppv event of the year...& it was a legacy-enhancing fight for Canelo...but he walked away. The duck is all on Canelo.

Of course he'll make much more than that next, and really boost his global stardom big time. Hope you enjoyed the lesson, don't let me catch you posting such idiocy again
Dude, GayLoveKin is fighting NOBODIES! MAYBE 1 b- fighter. That's it. He's 35 fights in. 35 nobodies. At least Canelo has fought some top guys...GayLoveKin won't move up OR down to fight any top fighters. Loeffler is a liar and cannot get his stories straight.

GGG is half-korean, half-Russian from Kazakhstan. There is no privileges to be had anywhere in that. Jeez some people.

GGG's best opponent has been Curtis Stevens. Enough said. Let's stop acting as if Canelo or GGG have much of a choice in who they fight. Do you guys think their promoters aren't gonna milk both of them for what their worth?? The fight WILL HAPPEN but not before they get as much as they can from the Liam Smiths and 147 pounders vying for middleweight titles of the world. It's a business before anything else. Golden boy and whatever commie comapny reps The "good boy" know they both have something to lose in that fight. Hence, the date sometime in 2017.
Canelo ducked the guy who he says hasn't fought anybody...despite having him as a mandatory...despite having an opportunity to collect 2 more world titles & become the champion at MW...despite actually having some experience against GGG in a sparring match, he still ran from the fight. The fight against GGG pretty much fell into his lap, unlike forcing his promoters to make the fight against Lara. Yet GGG is not challenging enough?! That's what he's saying by attacking GGG's resume. Canelo was a duck no matter what angle you look at it.

                    This ^

If GGG's resume is not good enough, how come all those other guys got the Canelo fight right away.

You have link??? I TRULY believe the right fighters could make open scoring AWESOME! I mean who wouldn't WANT to know where your at in a fight? Sure one guy might coast but then CUT the damn ring off!!! GO ALL-IN! Or go HOME like Trout "No Heart" did. He knew he needed a hail mary but kept running it on 1st and long...From his own 2 yard line.
