60k is bad, but you gotta start somewhere. arum wants crawford to take the torch from pacquiao.
Still too soon but I feel like Crawford will never reach Floyd and pac's status in terms of draw.

i agree, but if he's half the draw of either he's goign to be a cash cow. those two were enormously popular, two of the most popular fighters of all time. no shame in selling 500K in ppv in a couple of years.

          Crawford $1.3M, Postol $675k

The headliners alone were paid more then the profits generated. And that's not including the undercard which were paid 350k. If these PPV figures are true Arum lost money because the money he paid the fighters is more then the profits. And I'm sure there are other fees outside of just the half Cable takes like the venu so that 1.8m might even be closer to just 1m.

I think Arum said it needs to do 100k buys to pull a profit.

I have no problem with the number. Glaser is usually off by about ~1/3, so the real number should come in around 80k-85k. Bob Arum is on the record saying the fight needs 75k to break even, which means that real BE is probably ~60-65k

In either case, the Purses for the fight were 1.3m/600k with another 400k for undercards, say 2.5m total. 80k buys @ $60 = $4.8m+ ~1m gate+crap = ~6-7m revenue. HBO takes half, that's 3-3.5m, which means there's an extra 1m for expenses, which should be plenty.

In short, the fight probably did exactly what they thought it would do and is a financial success. Don't let the haters/idiots/racists tell you otherwise.

62K got duped. They won't be back after seeing Crawford running for his life all night. I'd be surprised if he demands huge money again against guys like Thurman, Garcia and others. He looks good on Lundy level opponents, though.

                Why mention Pac with Floyd?

In terms of PPVs...talent...and accomplishments...they aren't even in the same league.

I think Arum said it had to do around this number to make money.

you are not factoring in the live gate, HBO rebroadcast fee, foreign sales, etc. The event probably broke even or turned a small profit. I doubt Arum lost money.........
