No we don't, but once we hear both parties say a contracts been signed that's usually enough for most rational fans of the sport.

Both parties, in addition to HBO (Max Kellerman) have all said the same thing which is that a 3-fight deal has been signed that HAS to include Kov . The contract does not stipulate who the other two guys Ward must fight.

The actual Ward/Kov part of the contract will be finalized once they iron out the financials on that fight . If you've ever done any ******** It's like a 3 game open parlay where u fill in the names as u go but it's a finalized bet or contract.

Bottom Line: Ward fights Kov next or he retires .
Contracts like that are very complicated. There will be conditions involved that we don't know about. Eg, if HBO decide the fight isn't going to bring in as much money as projected, there may be clauses in the contract allowing either fighter to withdraw from the agreement if their financial expectations are not fulfilled.

Now you're talking about clauses in a contract you said didn't exist. It was proven there is a contract and you were wrong, move along.

“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense,” Loeffler said. “GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder [at] 164 [and] a 50-50 split on all proceeds.

Canelo already has the A-side leverage on Golovkin; 154 lb title or not. No mandatory for the Lineal title and no 160 lb max requirement.
Yes, Loeffler mentions being the A side, but that's only in the context of Ward wanting to dictate terms. This is evident in both Wards statements and actions. He said in September 2015, we gave them everything they wanted. 50-50. We didnt want to argue over 10%. Clearly, here, Ward thinks he is the A side and worthy of the larger cut. Notice Ward wanting to dictate terms in his email offer as well. My weight, my timetable. No compromise.

I certainly hope you're not arguing that 50-50 split and 50-50 weight is 'flexing A side muscle'. Notice the vast difference between "on a 50-50 basis", and "my natural weight class" and "90-10" split. That, my friend, is flexing A side muscle. Tom was making a reasonable offer that no one can argue against without bringing up 3rd parties or statements made years before

What contract? There is no signed contract for a Kovalev vs Ward fight. It can't be as long as one of the guys still has to fight a bloke; he might die in the process, who knows ?...

You do realize these situations happens one and two years apart. The issue with Ward was he wanted the fight to happen a year or so down the road, while locking in 50/50 now. GGG will have picked up two unification titles by then and would have been all three if Lee had beaten Suanders. They were right to say they were sticking to their 2016.

K2 rightly laughed at it and responded.

And Ward hadn't fought at 168 since 2013, and just fought at 172.
Golovkin's "anyone..." statement (per the ESPN article) was as early as March 2012. At that time, Ward was the WBA (Super), WBC, The Ring and lineal super middleweight champion which would have included Ward.

Now we flash forward to 3 years to April 2015....

When asked about still facing Chavez Jr, after JCC Jr lost to Fonfara at 171 pounds, Golovkin responded, “I hope so. I’m ready for anybody.”

            Once again, "anybody".

No one is saying that Golovkin should have accepted any terms from anyone from 154-168.

Agreed, Golovkin should not have step in the ring with Ward. The risk is/was far greater than the reward. That being said, a boxer should not constantly declare "Anyone" if they really mean "Anyone except..."

If Ward presented an offer in 2015 for a Golovkin fight in 2016, that is not 2 years down the road. More importantly, no boxing fan believes it would take Ward more tune-ups to get ready for Kovalev than to get ready for Golovkin. C'mon now.

That's 100% incorrect. Kovalev's manager reported that the contracts were signed in April and ESPN (Dan Rafael)reported that the contracts have been signed in the same article that the date, Nov 19, and venue, T-Mobile in Las Vegas, were revealed....

"The Kovalev-Ward fight, which was signed long ago but is contingent on each remaining undefeated through interim bouts, will take place Nov. 19 (HBO PPV) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas." (ESPN)

The signed contracts simply become null and void if one of them were to lose their interim bouts. Signed contracts can be contingent.

Ward is on record saying he will move up to Heavyweight eventually, so you are ****ed.
