Martinez was shot after the Murray fight, and was going downhill before it. Cotto landed some good hooks early that he admitted he never recovered from. Now, Cotto could've fought GayLoveKin, but unlike Canelo, he's actually not a middleweight. He weighed 153 for geale....seriously? I never said Canelo should've have taken the fight either. I said he calls the shots when it comes to anyone not named Floyd, and it's true. Like I said GayLoveKin missed his big chance for a really big payday. He had no star power to negotiate with Canelo or dictate any terms. Pretty much every fighter has to give up things to make the leap to star status, GayLoveKin didn't want to do that. His team is also a joke and always seem to have a different story about situations vs others.
Martinez has been ducking GGG since 2012 way before the Murray fight.

    Regarding Nelo.
Who does come down in weight losing 5 pounds?

Last time I saw something like that, Dawson vs Ward, Jones vs Tarver, the fighters looked unusually weak and were beaten to death.

I've been saying myself that 157 would be reasonable, but 155 is nuts.

Who cares if Cotto isn't a middleweight, he had the MW Lineal title, is that enough to compete in the MW division sir?

GGG doesn't have a name on his resume, but you guys are finding all the excuses in the world for those guys Nelo, Cotto and Martinez not fighting him.
    Just unbelievable, pure irrational hating.

He made his name by beating smaller guys as you said BUT also defending the MW titles for a decade, then having a nice run at LHW being 50 ****in years old.

GGG is far from that and hasn't been fully tested.

Don't know how GGG vs Hopkins would have played.

I think GGG could have outworked Nard.
But I can see Nard countering GGG a lot then moving, winning some rounds.
Would have been a nice fight.

I've been following GGG in the olympics (I'm a big amateur boxing fan) and I think you guys underrate his boxing brain.
His level of opposition is the issue. How the hell can a man have 35 fights, be called p4p, and fought basically nobodies? Then they act as though he's the draw? That's just amazing.

Hoping did lose many big fights, but not Oscar, and not tito. On another note, imo he won Taylor 1. The point of much of this is Hopkins took the risk.

I'm not making excuses...brook will weigh more than Cotto would have. I'm stating facts. It is indeed a fact that Cotto only weighed 153 vs geared, it's a fact as I said Martinez already was going down BEFORE Murray, so he cashed out vs. Cotto. Canelo should move to MW, but like I said again...he calls the shots.

Agreed, and his management mainly didn't help.

But don't blame "GayLoveKin" and don't **** on his name because the bigger names Cotto, Nelo, Martinez as I said, but also Saunders, Jacobs and Quillin have been running from him.

They ALL openly stated at some points they didn't want to fight him next, except Nelo "but at 155".

Jacobs just stated "in 18 months he would fight GGG".

            BJS asking for millions.

            Nelo is "weighing himself out".

The level of opposition is one thing, but how you beat them is important too.

Beating Lemieux or Murray isn't great, but beating them every second of the fight is great IMO.

Anyone with a brain knows Golovkin is a special fighter, and there aren't that much special fighters in the game.

Look at the hype, Crawford is being called the next Floyd, P4P number 1 because he beat that Postol stiff (never liked or was impressed by Postol).

The bigger names are big names because they have taken risks. They move up or fight other guys on the other guys terms. Crawford is now being talked about as a future big name because he is a two division champ in dominant fashion and has potential to move up and dominate 147. What's interesting is that you minimize Crawford win over Postol without giving him the same credit for how he won that you do Trip.

It's not about big names...it's about big challenges. Trip isn't there yet. YET.
