Hopkins or Toney - who was better?

I think Toney was better at his peak but Hopkins has had the better carer. If they fought, I would pick Toney to win.

Toney no doubt! I don't know how Hopkins gets a pass for basically cherry picking most of the supposed better part of his career. Boxrec it ffs and then tell me it's so impressive. The guy skipped 168lbs imo to avoid Ward. Hopkins was always fighting smaller guys or weak titlist. Hopkins lost to Taylor and Dawson ffs! Would James Toney lose to a Jermaine Taylor or a Chad Dawson? Would James Toney fake an injury not once but twice to try and get out of a fight? Toney went from 160lbs to heavyweight and fought the better competition. All Hopkins has is his not very impressive 160lb. title defenses and the age factor. I mean who did Hopkins really beat that was impressive? Oscar who really lost to Sturm and was in his 6th weight division that was too high for him? Tito who was in his 3rd weight class and Hopkins had to headbutt the shit out of him? Washed up Roy? Drunk Pavlik? Tarver after the Rocky movie? I mean seriously lol. Toney was way more athletic, won in better fashion and way more skilled than Hopkins. Hopkins is one of the most overrated boxers I've ever seen. A fat James Toney still was more pleasing to watch than Hopkins. Hopkins always got a pass also for being a dirty fighter... headbutts use to set up his lead rights all the time. How many times was Hopkins knocked down compared to Toney? Yet some of you clowns want to say Hopkins had the better defense LMFAO.
I'll never be beat by a white boi doe... proceeds to lose to Calslappy and was even humped by him.

I never said it didn't, you brought up "fighters who fought both said he's better"
Yes I know, coulda woulda shoulda, story of James Toney's career. How is it possible to know? Him being "better" is based off nothing but sheer fantasy. He did nothing in the ring to suggest it.
And Hopkins himself has said Toney is more gifted.
