Just because Cotto acquired the lineal title through a CW, that doesn't mean that he didn't acquire the lineal title. The lineal title was on the line, & he won it!...then Canelo won it off of him! Ok, so how does that apply to modern day boxing? Because in modern day boxing, a lineal title exists. If the lineal title didn't exist, then no one would bring it up. The fact that is does exist & delineates who's the champion is is enough for you to shut your mouth on the subject. But this is why you're the hype man. Come on, hype man. The Ring title exists & it tells you lineage of champions. It doesn't matter what The Ring is...what matters is that their title is considered the lineal title. In boxing circles, what are they going to tell you about lineal titles? They'll tell you they matter because the lineal title tells us who's the guy to beat in order to establish a boxer's status in a division. That's the top guy. Whoever has the lineal title is considered the champion of the division. Back when Pep was fighting there was only 2 boxing organizations...today there's 4 plus the lineal title (5 if you consider the IBO one). People might not like this, but that's modern day boxing. The lineal title means something because it denotes among 4 possible champions who the top guy is. Even if Stevenson is considered the #2 guy at LHW, he still holds the lineal title. As long as he has that, he can continue to claim that he's the LHW champion. Stevenson is a LHW champion until he loses those titles. That's the hard truth.

You're trying to argue from opinion ("Hi, my name is aboutfkntime & I say the lineal doesn't matter because it's my opinion that this guy holding the lineal title isn't even the top guy in his division. I agree.. I recon Golovkin haters spend more time talking about him, making threads about him than the actual fans of the guy.. I agree some GGG fans act as fanboys but I think it gets to the point where the haters make threads about those GGG fans..
Like they say any publicity is good publicity. So GGG is getting his fare share from the haters and the credit has to go to them for taking time and effort to talk about a guy they don't like..
