then he shouldnt talk to arum and go fight someone else and see how much he get for that fight.Broner never said that the $40m was "chump change"; he figured that, if he kept doing his thing, he'd be able to make the Roc Nation $40m plus more, so he wasn't thirsting after the deal. That's likely not the case any longer, but it was his right to take that chance.
Beyond that, let's cut the bull****; Pacquiao's guarantee is said to be $20m. If his guarantee was only $7m, Arum wouldn't have loss his ass on Pacquiao-Bradley 3.
Broner could want a bajillion dollars to fight; if Top Rank is only offering $2m, why should he even talk to Arum?Comment

Arum low-balled Tim Bradley (reneging on the rematch bonus in the original deal as well) and low-balled Juan Manuel Marquez (even after he flattened Pacquiao), in the obvious examples.
Broner likely made (from his purse, whatever sponsors he has, and his share off of being a co-promoter of the event) $2m on the Theophane fight, but that doesn't matter.
Pacquiao's last fight did **** business (losing money, in words coming directly from Arum), Top Rank has no other option in-house that will leave Arum not losing his hat again on the fight, and Broner is coming to the table with a name of his own to bring some money with him (while also having an easy handful of other options where he can make at least another $2m once everything is counted).
Simple supply and demand.Comment

Broner isn't crying about not fighting Pacquiao, or thirsting after re-opening talks, lol.
One thing's for sure, for the cost of Pacquiao's $20m guarantee, Top Rank is never staging another Pacquiao fight again (unless used to launch "Bud" Crawford into a name who can eventually pay back the loss).Comment

5 years, assuming no injury occurs, amounts to at least 15 fights for Adrien Broner.
Over the course of the time period, you're talking about a deal that caps at $2.7m per fight.
With Broner's trajectory, even after the Maidana sitdown, his was still on the path to being a PPV attraction.
Things haven't worked out for him so far but, even with his screw-ups, he's made over $6m for the 4 fights since he rejected Roc Nation's $40m, while still free to lock in elsewhere (were that to be what he'd want to do).
11 fights to go, ~$34m to make up; not undoable.Comment

Somebody get Andre Berto on the phone. He'll fight Pac for a cool $500k. Or send Oscar to go drag Frankie Gomez out of the Tiajuana strip clubs. Then there's Mike Alvarado who'll fight Pac for case of Miller Lite.
Cotto and Marquez are both still looking for a dance partner as well. Amir Kahn's still out there too.
Oh I almost forgot Maidana's done squandering his change he made fighting Floyd twice and is ready to get back into the gym. He'll probably accept a good mil for a Pac fight and probably alot less after uncle Bob has his "lawyers" write up the contract that no human being can understand.Last edited by jinx_htx; 07-13-2016, 06:03 PM.Comment

Arum says that Pacquiao has given the go-ahead to shop for a venue and opponents.
But Pacquiao put out a statement that there is no truth to the media reports that he will be taking a leave from his senate duties to fight again.
Who is lying and who is telling the truth?
Yea somebody's lyingComment
