Yea, the entire boxing world is hyping the guy. And Canelo, Jacobs, Cotto, Suanders, etc have been ducking him because he's all hype.

Sergio made his name fighting tough fights against guys GGG dominated.

Destroys the top ten MW, or makes top five run for cover.

He can't help that rather than get crushed fighters hand him the belts.

But Canelo though, he's a beast. He doesn't **** around (with becoming a good boy).



They wanted some exposure first. GGG was not known and had little chance of actually landing the fight anyways. Hell 4 years later and two major endorcements he stil, can't get the top MW to do battle.

By 2013 they wanted Sergio big time, but Sergio knew better.

Canelo is still the Lineal and RING Middleweight Champion. Let me know when he loses those titles or has even been the Lineal and RING champion for a substantial amount of time before we start talking avoiding someone.

Wait what? Didn't the WBC specifically mandate a fight between Golovkin and Canelo after the Khan fight? Also didn't something similar happen after the Cotto fight? I just joined this forum, but this is inexcusable.

Get serious. The best way for Golovkin to gain money and exposure would have been to beat the #3 P4P and Lineal Middleweight Champion Sergio Martinez.

When a 30 yr old Champion, that is looking for fame and to unify the division, is asked about facing the recognized #1 boxer and best boxer of the division, "not yet" is only the answer when you know you aren't ready.

This cat said "politically correct" answer.

Simple question....What would give Golovkin more money and exposure? Beating the #3 boxer in the world/Lineal Middleweight Champion or beat Gabe Rosado on HBO After Dark?

And what about the options? Some have asked why, if he is now seeking fights against names from the lower weights, Team Golovkin didn't look at Erislandy Lara or Demetrius Andrade. Two good names, but both are unlikely help sell out a UK arena
