Many people called out GGG but the only fighter that was serious was Brook! Mad props! Just happy to see him fight someone this year coming from a boxing fans perspective!

While there was no contract drafted, the words of Golovkin and company seem yo indicate that there was a real desire to fight Ward in fall 2015. Tom said (not verbatim) 'Gennady would fight Andre Ward in the fall of this year (2015) on a 50-50 basis. The best 160 vs the best 168 right in the middle at 164.' Sanchez said during that time '164 or no fight'. Golovkin went on SN and said the same thing, that he would fight Ward at 164. Ward went on SN the following week and Wiley and Kellerman asked Andre about the "offer". There is an article from July 21 or so where Roc Nation acknowledges this "offer" and says the fight would happen but not at 164. If Ward had accepted 164, would you beso quick to say it wasnt an offer, or would you call GGG a duck?

You say there is zero indication Eubank didnt want the fight. Maybe Jr wanted the fight, but Sr surely didnt. I believe the fact that Brook signed in 2 hours the same deal that was taking Eubank several weeks is a clear indication of "Team Eubank" desire to fight Golovkin.

They demanded a catchweight they knew Ward couldn't make.....

* they knew he weighed 172 in his last fight
* they knew he was planning to move up to 175 for Kovalev
* they offered to fight every man and his dog at 168 EXCEPT Ward

I hope you're right about Eubank and his willingness. I just see Brook's quickness to sign as an indication of it being a good offer, one Chris should have jumped on. I sonewhat understand the bit about Eubank starting his own promotion but I feel he shouldn't have went to Hearn if that's how much control they wanted. They should have come at K2 themselves.

You mention the speed of the Brook signing being because he is signed to Hearn. That is very important in understanding why Brook was signed. Everything was worked out between the promoters and it was as simple as replacing one name with the other. Dealing with another company takes them back to square 1 with little time between now and Sept 10. Another fighter would have ended up with short notice.

If Im going to consider Loefflers statement to the media an offer, than I have to accept Laras tweets and such. I am a believer that if a person (fighter, politician, or otherwise) gets in front of a camera and says something, they should be held to it. That being said, I think there is a difference between saying something like Ill fight you this fall at this weight for this split and just saying Id fight this dude. I put Lara statement in the same category as statements made by Canelo, Bradley, Froch, and others. Frankly though, I think there are political issues preventing any type of Lara negotiation.

Loeffler didnt give an exact date but he did say this fall. (2015) That's no less specific than Wards email of sometime 2016 after a 2016 tune up. Both statements in my opinion constitute valid offers.

This offer called for a tune up in 2016 prior to a fight in late 2016. This offer was made in July and for you to say that it would be the only tune up is to say Ward would sit out the rest of the year. At the time he was rumored to be on the Cotto-Canelo card. November 2015 would have been tune up #1, and early 2016 would have been tune up #2.

You can see Ward wanting 2 tune ups playing out with Kovalev. Since Ward pulled out of the Murdoch fight, he is fighting him again as tune up #2. Andre Ward has been with Roc Nation for over a year and a half, and has nothing but fight tune ups.

Ward had the perfect opportunity on SN when specifically asked by Wiley about164 to say it was ridiculous and he couldn't do it. Instead we get, I walk around at 180, shouldn't be a problem.

You said the offer was IMMEDIATELY after Smith (June 25) but the latinpost link you provide is dated July 21. This is almost a full month later and almost 2 weeks after Loeffler July 8 "164: 50-50". It is also only days before he changed his mind from immediately to next year after tune ups.

Do you have anything from Ward between 6-25 and 7-8? I dont remember reading anything from him during that time.

The guy in your AVI is dragging up a 39 year old unranked SMW. Brook v GGG is way more competitive than Ward v Brand.

7 pounds - 13 pounds big difference. Brook is suspect at 147 let alone 160. But yet you was one of the ones who spit on Canelo for bringing Khan up 8 pounds..
