How is Brook Suddenly the Best Welterweight?

I keep hearing Triple G apologists say that Golovkin is fighting the best welterweight? When exactly did Brook become the best welterweight? When did he beat Spence, Thurman, Garcia, Khan, Bradley, Broner, or even the old fellas like May and Pac? Didn't this dude just beat Jo Jo Dan, Gavin, and somebody named Bizier....cong**** on the one name on his record Porter but is that all it takes to make him the best welterweight?

Seriously I think British fans need to protest this fight, dont buy tickets, make it get cancelled.

There is no clear #1 welterweight since none of them are really fighting each other. Brook was ranked #1 by numerous different rankings, whether that's true or not is debatable and largely subjective.

Brook, Thurman, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Bradley, these are the top guys. The Ring has had Brook #1 for a while, along with others like TBRB. ESPN had him #1 until Thurman beat Porter so they have Thurman #1 and Brook #2.

Brook was the forgotten about welter champ but conveniently got vaulted to #1, and also attained the powers of being a natural MW, having good power, and slick skills. The power of creative thinking.

Where's the thread from a couple weeks ago where everyone picked Thurman to beat Brook?

Brook has been ranked #1 for a while. I think anyone saying he's a natural middleweight is trolling or don't know what the **** their talking about . He's a big welterweight, but a welterweight nonetheless. Everyone knows it's a mismatch and a big jump for Kell.

Spence appears to be quite formidable to me so my answer to that is yes

Brook? Meh - he's up there, but certainly not the clear #1 - I rate Brook at Welter but in no world can GGG vs Brook be considered a good fight.
