You can voice your displeasure all you want but truth is, this will be GGG's one of the more successful events and a good bridge for him to build fanbase in UK for BJS and Eubank fight. Loeffler is a businessman and he will make the most lucrative fights possible whether dwellers at NSB like it or not. GGG can't get any big fights if he can't offer more money. He can't offer more money at this rate so this is a good step for him.
A message to Tom Loeffler

Screw a message to Tom Loeffler. Id rather send a message to the other top middleweights out there.
Please grow some balls and step up and fight GGG. GGG is only a man and with proper hard intense training and dedication to winning you have a chance. Quit waiting to make a fight with another fighter or waiting for GGG to make a fight with someone else before you start calling him out.Comment

No offense dude, but your refusal to believe means absolutely nothing. His options absolutely ****** and they already had a venue and HBO date booked. Trying to come with a new venue, HBO date and an opponent would have been a disaster. He would have ended up fighting Khurtsidze in November at an Atlantic City casino.I refuse to believe that there were no better options than Kell fúcking Brook.
This fight is disgraceful. It's a half-assed money grab that is going to backfire. Gennady will gain absolutely nothing from this fight.
He will only receive criticism... mountains of fúcking criticism from his own fan base.Comment

This is a reults oriented business and K2 and company may have tried but exactly zero big fights have been made for Golovkin by them.
In boxing one does not always get to have their cake and eat it too, especially before they hit the mega big time. Golovkin has done well but he and his team have needed to sacrifice to make that next step. You can say that is wrong, that it is unfair that others are to blame but what is the one constant in all the Golovkin scenarios.
Eventually one has to cast their gaze on one side who can never make a big fight for whatever reason, and blaming the other side as being scared only goes so far and works for so long. Even if true, partly true or mostly true, positive results still need to occur or it doesn't matter anymore.
I can forgive the Brook fight as long as Golovkin is making the best payday he could because he is an aging fight so he needs to do that. It is meaningless really in the grand scheme of his boxing run but he still has a bit of time to get the fights he needs and a couple more years to cash in. However, given the past I wouldn't expect much to change because if things have stayed the same what is going to change them in the future.Comment

great postHis realistic options for early September were; Khurtsidze, Lee, Korobov, Heiland, and maybe Tureano Johnson.
All the top MW's turned him down. The top SMW's are either busy or injured. Lou DiBella told Lance Pugmire that Golovkin/Lara has network issues. Andrade said he wants to finish his run at JMW then move up and fight GGG in a few years....
I relate to what you're going through, I went through it back when they picked Adama. Golovkin's unfortunate pattern is that he always gets painted into corners when it comes to getting opponents.
This is nothing more than a stay busy freak/show type of fight. Brook will likely be more competitive than Geale, Rubio, Wade, or Macklin, and probably even give Golovkin a harder time than Lemieux or Stevens, but his fate is sealed and the result is a given.
However the upside of Golovkin getting a high-profile fight in the UK (and prime time across Europe) does outweigh a stay busy defense vs Khurtsidez/Lee/Korobov. Golovkin beats one of those guys in September, it doesn't do anything towards getting him a fight with Eubank, Saunders, Jacobs, DeGale, or Canelo. But selling out the O2 in London and doing good UK ppv can. He needs big name, credible opponents, generating some good money-metrics vs Brook will go further than another KO vs a decent MW. Consider this fight lemonade at a premium.Comment

Venue and date could've stayed the same, but dragging a guy up from WW? To fight the baddest 160 lber on planet Earth?
Nope. Not gonna give him or his team a pass on this one.
This fight will damage Gennady's legacy.
Brook is not, I repeat not Sugar Ray fúcking Leonard. Nobody wants this fight, and no one thinks he has a chance to win.
Everybody loses.
Except maybe Hearn... He's eating this shít up, I bet.Last edited by Contra; 07-12-2016, 02:38 PM.Comment
