And then what? If they both end up damaged fighters they put on a remnants fight against each other?

From a British boxing perspective this is ****ed up. Our fighters are selling themselves as sacrificial lambs.
What options at 147 are actually realistic?

Vargas pulled out, Arum has said he's not looking to match his guys against Brook which rules out Bradley, Khan is terrified, Porter isn't interested in a rematch, Garcia is looking to avoid any of the top guys at 147 and Thurman wants Garcia or a Porter rematch.

The Americans haven't shown any signs of wanting to fight Brook, he took whatever big fight he could get.

Spence, Peterson even Guerrero would have added to a record that contains one notable with until he could get the bigger fighters in the ring. I also think a fight with Thurman would have been doable. I understand that the Americans aren't exactly lining up to fight Brook but jumping two divisions for a potentially physically damaging fight isn't the way forward for me.

I wasn't aware that Vargas had pulled out, last I read he'd signed the contract and was waiting on Kelly?

Steve Kim confirmed earlier that Vargas pulled out. Wasn't happy with the money and has another option (likely Bradley).

Spence has a fight scheduled and is still an unknown, Guerrero is average and washed up...Brook has been looking for these fights for 2 years, they aren't fighting him. How long can you hang around hoping for a fight?

I don't like this fight either, but it's the only top opponent he could get.

Yes, we waited a long time to see how special you are. The porter fight might just be a one off. Try replicate it.

Just read his tweet. Vargas' offer was reduced by 10%, presumably after he'd already signed so he's walked away. If that's the case then Hearn's purposely scuppered the fight (understandably so) so that's not on Vargas.

What chance do you give Kell of winning this one? And as a fan are you concerned it'll effect his durability if he does take a beating?

Pretty sure that Errol Spence is American.

If this really happened then it is clear that Hearn backstabbed Eubanks jnr.

Because if the sequence of events is....

reduce by 10% = vargas pulls out = Brook takes Eubank's fight, then it is clear that this was a planned and well executed backstab.

It also explains why Hearn quickly ran to the media to bash Eubank, coz obviously, as he was the one doing the stabbing, it would have been much easier for him to get to the media first and spread his propaganda straight up Kathy Duva style.

As I said, he was looking for a big fight.

Spence has a fight scheduled and he's not even close to a big fight.

It wasn't reduced in terms of a new offer, it was reduced due to the reduced rate of the £ after the euro split.

I don't give Kell much chance at all. He's an excellent fighter and highly skilled, but he's way too small. Golovkin is a pressure fighter that has walked down huge guys like Lemieux, a WW isn't keeping him off.

                      War Kel Brook!

What a way to silence the critics who slagged him off for being a diva and not going after the big fights!

Duran moved up 2 divisions and beat SRL. SRL moved up 2 divisions and beat Hagler. I don't think Kel can beat Golovkin, but I think he'll give him a tougher fight than Eubank Jnr would have done. And Kel believes he can do it, which is all that matters really.
