Besides Canelo who could GGG actually fight that are legitimate opponents?

That doesn't seem plausible. Floyd was having problems filling seats and Harris hadn't fought in the US in about 2 years. Main Events would have taken a huge loss in that fight. They were having a tough time getting Harris fights so I understand why they made the offer. I guess they figured they'd be able to make it back regardless of who won or lost.

Remember what the purpose of the Gatti fight was- getting Floyd a high profile PPV fight to build him because he had proven himself against top fighters (hernandez, Castillo, Corrales) something GGG hasn't done to this point (not that its all his fault).

My point is that there appeared to be a plan in place-look good against Brussels and set up the Gatti fight they had been working toward for at least a year. Main Events making the Harris offer would have deviated slightly from that plan and created more risk for Floyd but not themselves.

It's a very weird epidemic on NSB. It leads me to believe they're scared.

In the end it's really up to the fighter whether he wants to move up or not. I don't even give a hoot if he retires now. There are enough fighters to spend my forum time on. I just don't see the sense of hating on a guy who is being ducked, instead of his ducks. I don't see these GG detractors trashing these ducks. They don't even push the slightest pressure on them. Nothing.

I have frustrations myself like these Haymon fighters who are now approaching one-fight-a-year status. Thurman, Porter, Garcia, Jacobs, etc. Fighters who are not as ducked as GG. But do I make threads about them everyday? No.

Have never seen anything like it.

will he dare to be great or will he be content with being very good.

To become a star you have to beat one, and elite opposition...he hasnt, its that simple and his fanatics hate people point this out

I want to see him take risks, fight better opposition. There is gonna come a point where k2 is gonna have to take a chance with this guy

They don't have to do anything. I'm pretty sure the manager and promoter want to continue to make money, which they do with every fight, good or bad. Sure they'd like a nice check from Canelo but playing A-side to a bunch of no-hopers nets a pretty coin too.

Ring ranks him 6th the IBF ranks him 6th, the WBO ranks him 11th, ESPN ranks him 8th, Boxrec ranks him 4th so why exactly is Eubank not a legitimate title defense for GGG??????? Why do GGG haters set the bar so high for only him and no other champion? Why does GGG has to prove himself to idiot haters by beating all the 168 pound champions when he is a god damn middleweight? He is ranked in the top 3 best pound for pound fighters in the world by all the experts so he has already proven himself to them. It's only haters who insist he must fight the best guys in the division above his division to prove he is any good. Lara made 3 title defenses in a row against totally unranked guys and yet Lara is one of the guys they say he should fight. Why? Lara just barely beat Vanes and he isn't a middleweight. If GGG knocks Lara out the same haters will just say he is picking on a smaller guy.
Because yall did it to Mayweather..he would fight top fighters in all the divisions he went to and ya'll ****ted on him, he fought comp far superior to GGG yet to hated on him religiously..WHY??

I mean, fine by me. Plenty of good fights and fighters going on. But as long as he's the flavor of the month on these boards, we'll discuss. And it won't be long before GGG has to **** or get off the pot. Imagine when 2017 rolls around and Canelo is still asking for a catchweight? And GGG is taking on his umpteenth forgettable opponent?

now this is gonna be good....or we'll just be hearing crickets....The latter seems more likely

the same idiots doing damage control for this guy trash Mayweather for years, dont give guys like Danny Garcia there props for fighting tough opposition in their careers.

I can go on for days how many active fighters have taken more risks and have a better resume than this guy

top 3 p4p my ass....to be p4p you have to beat elite fighters

Huge difference doe. Nobody ducked Mayweather, or tried to. There's no known opponent that you would like GG to fight who went out of his way to fight the Kazakhstani fighter. GG is not even as huge. Any schmo could contact his management team and make himself available. Don't even mention Ward...
